One of the best fixtures of the season in prospect later tonight when Atletico Madrid face Barca. Some of the clashes there in recent seasons have been quality. Real Madrid reduced the gap to 2 points last night when brushing aside Xerez. Kaka and Ronaldo combined really well and it looks like their understanding is building. It’s shaping up to be a good battle to the finish line.

A typical Atletico Madrid/Barca game so far. Barca’s offside trap is hilarious at times - suppose the lack of understanding between the back four is having an impact; Jeffren a left winger filling in at right back and Milito playing only his second game since coming back from his cruciate injury. Atletico’s two goals were excellent, especially Simao’s freekick finish but Barca have responded well. Zlatan took his goal beautifully and their keeper has made some decent saves; masterful skill by Zlatan for one of the efforts.
A deserved win for Atletico in the end.
