Spanish Football 2009/2010

H’on Valencia, h’on David Silva.

Remarkable scenes there. The referee didn’t have a clue what had happened and the fourth official seems to have told him it was a hand ball and red card. The home crowd would have gone absolutely nuts if the penalty wasn’t awarded there.

Barca have a relatively straightforward tonight away at Almería but Real are hosting Sevilla in what could be a good game if Sevilla turn up.

Is the Real game on at 7 or 9?

Barca at 7, Real at 9.

Lovely.

And don’t forget Roma versus Milan at 7.45pm but that’s Italian football.

Looking forward to Real Madrid/Sevilla though.

Barca one down. They’ve had all the chances but still look unsure of themselves at the back. Milito just looks like someone who hasn’t played in two years.

Going really pear shaped now for them in the second half. Messi clipped in a nice freekick equaliser before half time but Puyol slid in and knocked a cross into his own goal ten minutes into the second half and Zlatan’s got a straight red for having a kick at a defender. Just as I type…Messi’s pounced on a poor defensive header to equalise again. They’ll go all out for the win with ten men, I imagine, as they’ll still keep the ball.

Messi to the rescue after Zlatan let Barca down. Must win game for the world’s finest team with the fascists breathing down their necks.

Messi nearly got a third there. Is it too early to say he’s the new Aguero?

Alves deserved a booking for a dive in the box there. Talented but utterly brainless player.

The one touch play down the park prompted by the skill by Messi back in his own right back position was a joy to behold there.

A perfect start at the Bernabeu. An own goal by the Royalists.

The best goalkeeper in the world slipped up there. The best goalkeeper in the world.

The irrepressible but irritating figure of Cristiano Ronaldo gives the Castillians hope from the penalty spot, from play.

Edit: 2-2 - Ser-hio Ramoth heads in from a corner.

They said it would be one of the games of the season. They weren’t wrong.

The Sevilla goal is taking more punishment than Cheryl Tweedy throwing darts at at a dartboard with Ashley Cole’s picture on it.

Fucking hell, some finish this is!

And Van der Vaart wins it.

Hate Real but by fuck they were excellent there. The pass from Guti to Ramos is straightforward but hitting it first time at that pace with no pause made the goal. Some football.

What a game of ball.
