Spanish Football 2009/2010

This debate had nothing to do with tactics or formations at the start, have we forgot what we are arguing about?

Last season’s Eto’o was very good, this season’s Eto’o has showed signs of why Barca got rid of him. The Eto’o of a couple of seasons ago was completely uninterested and refused to play for Rijkaard. That was the end of him, even if they milked another season out of him.

On his day he’s excellent but Barca had been burned recently with Deco and Ronaldinho staying a season too long and causing problems for the whole club. So the decision to replace Eto’o needs to be seen in that context.

Comparing Eto’o in the CL final to Zlatan at the weekend gives you one answer. Comparing their form (in all competitions) this season will probably give most people a different answer. And Barca bought for this season, not last season.

i watched this match and for the most part ibra was shite… i cant believe there are posters on here who honestly believe he is one of the best (never mind the best) player in the world.soon, we will have bandage claiming robbie keane is the best striker in the world because he can bang them in in that mickey mouse league.(the s.p.l) if ibra doesnt start scoring soon he will find himself on the scrapheap for next season.

A veritable feast of football around Europe tonight.

Barcelona Starting XI
Valdés, Alves, Puyol, Piqué, Maxwell, Touré, Busquets, Iniesta, Henry, Ibrahimovic y Leo Messi.

Ribery has announced today that he’ll only leave Bayern Munich for Spain.

Sevilla are in talks with Luis Aragones after sacking Manolo Jimenez last night.

This is the game Zlatan was bought to help Barca win. When nothing else is working…

Is there an FA Cup thread? Duffer is on fire for Fulham setting up a goal for Bobby Zam.

And there he is…

Not before time either, Pep was giving him the shepherds crook!

This has been horrific collectively by Barca. Rarely have I seen so many of their players misplace basic passes together in the same game. But then the goal itself was a beautiful move typically finished by Zlatan. It could be yet another decisive winning goal by the Swedish striker and, even just as importantly, another 70 minutes under his belt as he gets back to fitness.

Nice to see the boy Bojan back.

Messi seems to have found one of the very few missing elemens which will have him on a par with Diego - a temper. All he needs now is a coke habit.

And a rifle

Yeah I forgot about the mafia connections as well. :stuck_out_tongue:

Barca not having things their own way again tonight.

Ah magnificent. Zlatan can’t stop scoring crucial goals!

Some reaction in the pub when Zlatan played that pass to Messi with his back. Different class. He’s moving much more freely again now and was very sharp tonight. Of course, that’s yet another decisive winning goal from him too.

1-0 to Athletico in the most one sided derby in Europe apparently

Nice finish by Reyes. Bang goes my Real 2-0 and Higuain to score first bet.

Shit. I thought this was kicking off at 9pm.

That’s a shocking miss. Haven’t seen a whole lot of Spanish soccer this year but can’t understand how Real are challenging for the title based on this performance.

any links for this match??
