Spanish Football 2009/2010

10 minutes or so for Madrid but you definitely get the feeling there’s a goal there for them.

Shunsuke Nakamura lining up for Espanyol here. You’d miss the lad, so you would.

Barca saw it out comfortably in the end. Glad that cunt Diarra saw red

I found it quite amusing the way the commentators were almost wetting themselves about how entertaining and how great the game was and then Michel Salgado completely contradicted them back in the studio. Second half improved obviously but not a hugely memorable game apart from the goal.

If you were actually there you’d probably have been getting as excited by Messi’s performance I’d say. Do think Rob Palmer was on the ball though; not a classic clsico. It was certainly entertaining; more fascinating than fabulous perhaps.

The commentators weren’t there though were they?

El Clasico should be on a Saturday night, in fairness. :pint:

I’d have thought for that fixture they would have been although I know they’re not usually.

Only watched the second half of it duue to not having a red button with the chorus…Barca played well, Puyol and Pique at the back looked very assured while I thought Busquet was catching the eye before gettinga stupid second booking…Super finish from Zlatan…

Thought Iniesta was excellent and worked his socks off, super football that lad…

I thought it was a decent enough game without threatening to be a classic. Puyol was really good at the back and Barca knocked it around fairly well at times but Real were pretty disciplined and defended stoutly. They looked a threat on the break and had the two best chances of the first half through Ronaldo and Marcelo. I’d have Tour in ahead of Busquets - not sure if he was carrying an injury - but I think Barca are a better side when he plays. They didn’t really flow offensively like they can for the first 50 minutes or so but that was largely due to being without their best player, Zlatan. His finish and all round play when he came on was first class though despite his ongoing injury problems.

Puyol surprised me, didn’t think he still had it in him.

The commentators were saying something about tickets in their hotel so I’d say they were over there anyway.

Messi was amazing tonight looked dangerous every time he got on the ball, delighted the Argies got to the WC just to see him strut his stuff.Puyol was a rock at the back and has come on in leaps and bounds in the last couple of years.Zlatan took his goal well but the likes of NCC are getting far too carried away about him being the worlds best striker(Torres and Drogba are better imo).Overall Barca look in a great position to win both the La Liga and Champs league again this season.

torres:eek: isnt even the best spainish striker & the best spainish striker isnt even the best striker in the spainish league
torres:eek: isnt even the best spainish striker & the best spainish striker isnt even the best striker in the spainish league
Are you on drugs NCC?Torres is far superior to Zlatan who in fairness is a rich mans Niall Quinn, there I said it!

You’re clearly out of your mind.

if torres was that good he would be playing for one of the big clubs in spain- villa is the best spanish striker & he isnt as good as zlatan

We are talking about a player who couldn’t hit a barn door for his country in what nearly 2 years?

you know more than the managers of sweeden, ajax ,juve, inter & barca?

Eto’os record for Barca
20042009 FC Barcelona 145 (108)
come back to me when Zlatan beats that.
