Any of ye try these?
Ive started to get back into weight training lately and was recommended by one of the Russian guys who trains in the gym to use a product called maximuscle cyclone as a start off to help with building some muscle strength
Im pretty sure that this is for sale in ireland also as well as out here in the middle east as maximuscle are an English company.
I used to sprint back in the day and have maintained a reasonable level of lower body and arm strength since.
Over the next few months I intend standing in front of the mirror a lot admiring myself as I am a vain cunt. That is the goal of all this
Googling the product leads to a lot of crap so I was wondering has anyone here used this.
Kev, as resident forum dietician / baker / alleged cage fighter, what is your opinion of all these products?
Ive been using it on a daily basis since last Sunday and whilst its definitely giving me a lot more energy it has me feeling a little wired…
I used one of them for a while, the recovery one, not sure of the name. But I have figured (for me) that an hour of flexibility and core work every friday is better than any supplements in my recovery or my prep for a game. I don’t think there is much doubt that they help a bit. I just wouldn’t be spedning that kind of money when most of what they produce is around you everyday anyway, i.e. fruit, veg and protein.
A big muscley cunt in the gym recommended Cyclone to me about 4 years ago. It certainly seemed to be working for him anyway. Dear oul stuff though, it’s 40 something euro or something insane like that down in Holland and Barrett. Better off starting the day with a 15 egg white omlette or some such thing.
cheers kev
the only issue i have with it is that it is loaded with beta ecdysterone that is an anabolic steroid, however it is not on the banned list of steroids because according to Maximuscle the beta ecdysterone in cyclone is derived from plants.
the russian lads in the gym i train with in tel aviv tell me that the russians have been using this stuff since the late 90’s as it got them around the doping control, apparently the western world only caught on to it ~2005
obviously the effects of beta ecdysterone on humanas have not fully been established as its only in short term use.
it does give u savage energy and power tho
i was on the track the other night doing pyramid sprints
60, 100, 150, 200m and then repeat 200, 150, 100, 60m. i could definitly feel it coursing through my veins
i dont know padjo
Hence the reason why i opened up this thread
Tonite if im prancing about the showers i will try to examine the balls of the musclemen in the gym and i will report back to the forum on my findings
I’m no specialist, but experience with injuries, different therapists and my study has showed me that many lower back pains are coming from somewhere else altogether. Much of the time these injuries start in the calves. Of course some are from years of the way you carried your school bag, or may just be genetic.
Generally though static stretching may actually compound the pain. Much static stretching for the lower back are also muscle builders (its such a delicate area its hard to do anything right), so you may actually be adding to the injury. This is just my opinion and experience, i’m not sure if its in any manual or physicians book. I would go for more dynamic stretching. Core work will help avoid lower back pain. Core isn’t just your abs though, its your hips, arse, stomach, quads, hamstrings, lower back. Your middle from nipples to knees i think i heard it described once. I would do something like this 2-3 days a week, takes 10 mins. I’ll skip for one week in 4 and do some other core stuff, just to break it up.
One Bent knee Crunch raises (barely getting shoulders off ground, lying on back) x 25 each side Slow Alternative Super man x 8-12 Side Planks x 12
Kettle Bell (you can use a dumb bell) swings x 12-20
For example;
Mimic kicking a point, or indeed the way a rugby kicker takes a penalty (follow through). Build it up slowly, and you will increase your range of motion over time. Do many 5 each side morning and evening. This will really work the hamstrings, and your hips. It could be your hip rotators pulling your lower back out of sync.
Go on your front for the regular calf stretch, much like the up-dog yoga move (if you know that), where your arse is right up in the air and your in a V more or less. Instead of just stretching, alternate your heels up and down, stretching calves, but in movement. Way better than static strecthing.
Static stretching is really only for after a training, run or a game. Any other time its dynamic stretches you need.
I use Dynabands for stretching and even strength training, i find them very good.
This is a great site in general, but here is the stretching page.
Anything that increses the steroids in your body is going to have knock-on affects Mickee, if you think its anyway related to other steroids then its just a matter of time before its banned, and proved that its wrong for you.
You will get bad skin, become moody (moodier) , irritable, lose sleep and possibly put on weight. Well its really water you put on, but some of the steroids leave something (i actually can’t remember what) that holds water. This is one of the reasons some pumped up lads can look so bloated sometimes. The eastern european lads are murder for it around Cork and the gyms i have gone to.
Image is huge to them though, and their women like muscles, so thats alot of what its about.
you play junior or intermediate GGA football - you truely are a walter mitty character -id say 99% of junior or intermediate bogball teams dont even train for their hobby
In Dublin maybe, but i doubt it. Any first team in a club would be training 3 days a week, well any serious team that is, most clubs do take it seriously.
Of course most Junior and Intermediate clubs in Cork and Kerry and places like this would be of similar standard to most Dublin senior clubs, outside the 5 or 6 super clubs, so i can see your confusion.
Of course alot of my training is for my own benefit, and i do it 12 months a year, football or not. Maybe if you laid off the smoke you might be able to do the same. Your guinea blood will mean you’ll have a fast metabolism, so keeping your weight down may not actually point to whats going on inside. Heart attack at 40 i’d say.
for future reference - the culture & the norm of this site is that you dont write a long winded response to a post when simple bullet points will suffice
Jesus, that was easy, your really beaten when you start looking for bullet points. What sort of a sad individual are you coming back with this droll dross.
Cop yourself on fella. You used to put up some sort of fight. Was it the Ireland GAA jersey or the Paul Galvin incidents that have broken you, or is it the time you shat youpants and changed aliases when confronted with the possibility of a physical exchange with mise?
