when we were young lads we used to walk along the pier swilling cans enroute to the boozer, a really interesting game of dare used to be played involving the rope that used to tie whatever craft (usually tugboats or small trawlers) to the pier. One had to grab onto the rope, wrap themselves around it and drag themselves over the water out to the boat and back, the stretch of rope was usually about 10-15m, If done successfully a standing ovation was provided, i fell in once , it was quite disgusting

I’ve never been in Krakow, but Poznan, great craic and all as it was at the time, was a shithole. Gdansk was much nicer.
