Any nice activities to do in Dublin city centre with a group of kids, weather looks to be patchy, weāll be doing the Dublinia thing because they like Vikings,
Weāll have a few kids with us that arenāt our own so weāll be a large group.
Havenāt been to Dublin in a good while.
Weāll be on foot/public transport.
Also taking recomendations of places to eat for a group like that, thanks in advance.
We had a grand time of it up around Westport.
Did a day at the Pirate Park. Not sure I could recommend it as itās really poor value.
The pirate bit itself is very limited. If the kids are big thereās only two rides that would entertain them, if they are small they wonāt get on the two good rides and will be limited to the mini Ferris wheel and some sort of mechanical merry go round thing. Thereās a train around, and pedal swans on the lake. There also a good slide in a different area, but youād be hard pressed to knock a day out of it.
They are extremely strict on heights of access to the rides (ridiculously so), so you need to check in advance if the kids will qualify.
Got the children over half way up Croagh Patrick, which was an achievement in itself and headed out around Achill for a day which was great, even in poor weather.
Came home via Connemara / Doolough. I delayed lunch so we could go to MisUnderstood Heron, which then turned out to be closed on Tuesdays.
Dublin Bay cruise down at the Samuel Beckett bridge. National Gallery. Croke Park Museum and Skywalk. Little Museum of Dublin.

Milano on Dawson St to eat. Kid friendly. Central. Wagamama off Stephens Green.
There are regular food markets around city too
Grab Luas to Sandyford - Jumpzone
Aside from the ones Fagan has mentioned The Epic Museum in CHQ and 14 Henrietta st are decent but you may be museumed out at that stage.
Food wise Romanoās on Capel st is a no frills Italian that is really cheap. Kids like Thunder Road in Temple Bar or Captain Americaās on Grafton st but both are expensive.
If they like walking Howth is good, particularly on a weekday.
DART and fish and chips
The Howth Cliff walk is amongst the nicest walks in the country
Takes in a lighthouse and a secluded ābeachā
Bit busy is the only thing. Too crowded and youāre constantly stopping to let people past
What a meak attitude
As I am not 4ā11 like you, my life isnāt a constant struggle to appear tough
Thanks, weāve been to Howtj a few times and it is nice, but we only have one day and will be staying in the city centre, train up and down job
The bog bodies in the National Museum were a hit when we did a āDublin Museums Dayā a few years ago
Bring them on a tour of the inner cityā¦ look down any alleyway and youāll find a junkie or human excrement. They can count which there are more of.
If the kids are adventurous eaters bring them to the M&L on Cathedral St for a bit of authentic Chinese.
I have never been but a primary school teacher I know takes his students to the Hugh Lane Gallery up past the Rotunda and says it is an excellent day out.
Itās a lovely gallery and then out to the Garden of Remembrance across cc the road.
Over to Dublin Castle. Theyāve a new exhibit with the two shillelaghs that were used to rule Ireland for 800 years.
Do the croke park skyline thing. You might see the brogans abseiling off the roof.
Bring em to the fucking zoo and stop over thinking it
Ah Jesus, weāve been to the zoo dozens of times.
Iām quite familiar with Dublin, just looking for handy activities to fill out a few hours
