Stick hurling: Parental Guidance advised

what are you crying about now, should they just have fouled more so, is that what youre saying? Youre going around in circles here like a cat chasing his tail

So do you catch it, then put it on the hurl then flick it up and pass?

In what way is it worse?

If the point of the league is to prepare for a championship in which referees are going to hammer niggly fouls then surely this is the best kind of practice possible?

Dublin conceded a rake of frees against Clare and made a hero out of Tony Kelly from placed balls. And lost.

In what way is that better than Waterford’s performance on sunday?

Possibly. But the difference would be that it wouldn’t be an official complaint after the event. It would be on the field of play. Lads saying “ah ffs ref look at his hurl”. Now the ref might not stop play and look immediately but he’d be alerted and hvae a look as play went on. If he thought it looked dodgy then he could take action and as was suggested previously if the hurl is illegal then straight red. How many teams would want to risk it?

The Brick flick

I don’t know if it’d work for 15 yard quick pass but lads could perfect it.

They were the days allright winning a match 3-8 to 4-4. The handpass made a cunt of the whole thing

It’s called that in our Coaching notes

My God flatballs that’s a good idea.

They should pull on it first time so. God it’d be glorious!

The game is too physical now.
Also we need to go back to the old days when the game was more physical and men were men.

It’s too easy to score now.
Also we need less tackling

Skill levels have never been higher we need to make the game more difficult.
Also skill levels have never been lower, we need to bring back in the over head pull and the ground strike

Basically lads are yearning for the days when hurling was shit and hurlers were headless chickens who got it and drove it as far as they could.

There were always wonderful hurlers in the game, the only challenge was protecting yourself from GBH efforts.

Would also eliminate the hand pass

Some would say it doesn’t exist at the present anyway!

Couldn’t argue with that either in a lot of instances. It’s strange how the “clear” hand pass rule wasn’t never clamped down on in leagues and early season matches like is usually done with certain rules that refs focus on for a while.
