Heâs enough riding doneâŚ.
I didnât âlet on to be concerned about dirty playâ. I simply said that the great Kilkenny team got away with a huge amount of obvious dangerous/dirty play. So youâve changed the point that I made. You canât stick to the point. You followed up with a load of what about this and what about that. Again not sticking to the point.
In the space of a few posts there were three clear red card incidents referred to. All three were striking with the hurley, red card offences in any era. No reds were given though. Kilkenny got away with an awful lot of red card offences.
Now, can you fire up the video of Walsh breaking his hurl across Lyngâs legs as Walsh was flat on the ground and Lyng running past him with the ball? Itâs the one you described as âa mistimed pullâ. We can all have a look then and see how biased and ridiculous your positionis on anything you think is vaguely anti-kilkenny.

Can you explain to me what that has to do with Walsh not getting red card in the incident I referred to?
The dirtiest trick Tommy Walsh used was the helmet push move. While it wasnât grevious it gave him an advantage under the dropping ball.
Liam Fennelly told me in 1992 when they had the cup in Callan that he stopped wearing a helmet due to full backs/corner backs pushing it forward under a dropping ball. After hearing that I tried it myself and it works.
Richie Hogan were sent off during the Cody era â and deserved to be sent off.
Hogan should have got a yellow at worst. That decision was a low for the GAA.

Explain to you
I do not think you are an idiot, and you seem like a decent sort, but you are making a show of yourself in this thread.
Any comment on Tannian pull?
Yeâve only won a couple. Come back when ye have a few.
cc @ of all the kilkenny lads.
Are Limerick going to have to put up with this shite ad nauseum now because theyâve won a few All Irelands?

Well, I agree, there.
RH was sent off, deservedly, against Limerick for a wild pull.
I had lads doing that to me a lot when I was a young unspry U-16 full forward in 92-93.
I never knew Tommy invented it when he was 9 or 10.
A visionary.

A Kilkenny forward told me what transpired in immediate aftermath of RH getting red card.
He ran over to referee and said: " Ah, for godâs sake, James⌠You do realize youâre now after making a fuck out of an All Ireland Final?" Owens: âThatâs fair enough but you should have heard what I was told in my earpieceâŚâ
Question: what person is or what people are operating a de facto VAR in Croke Park?
Question: from what county or counties is that person or those people?
Why canât you admit it was an outrageous pull and merited a red? Tommy is still one of the greatest hurlers ever. The two are not exclusive.

Because it was not âan outrageous pullâ.
No comment on Tannian?
I donât recall the tannian incident youâre referring to to be honest, but if you feel do strongly about it Iâm sure it merited a red. So did the Walsh pull. Itâs mad you deny it. I donât think Iâd have difficulty acknowledging it merited a red if it was a Limerick player.

Ah stop it will you. Youâve gone an anecdote too far there.

Might be worthy of an article to put the cat amongst the pigeons

True story â and an important true story.
