Friend of mine recently took 18 tablets in a suicide attempt. He survived, mainly due to the fact that he is overweight. Depends on the BMI of person really as to whether they will survive it.

Why not take a rake of sleeping tablets, drive into a wall at 100mph with no seat belt and have a rope round your next tied into your boot so that when you’re thrown forward you choke yourself also. If you’re really good you can have a wank while doing this and go out Hutcho style.

remember hearing once from an “expert” the pattern shows male suicide methods tends to be way more dramatic such as a hanging or driving into a wall ,jumping in front of a train…whereas females tend to be more private like taking pills etc and go to sleep and never wake up…

I seem to remember my father telling me he was on a train into Galway circa 1983 and it being delayed for ages - it turned out it had hit a toddler who had strayed onto the line a few miles outside Galway. The driver was in floods of tears and had to be helped off when they eventually got to the station. Or something like that.

I vaguely remember it happening. There was really shocking footage in the late 70’s iirc of a child getting hit by a car in the tour of Ireland rally footage from a helicopter was shown on the news. The poor thing was flung so far. Think he/she may have survived.
I think that a tube driver on average over a career statistically will experience a suicide under their train about 1.5 times iirc. I suppose they are trained to try and deal with it in advance.

i know a cie train driver, he says that they have it down to a tee as to what to say when you get a jumper to ensure maximum time off at full pay

I have a pal *, who after years at the family undertaking business, packed it in, and has trained as a train driver. He loves it. New lease of life. He may of course be a cunning plant by the father given the above.
