Suicide

Choose another method that isnā€™t so challenging so I suppose yeah

If they are genuine they normally do from my life experience anyway.

Lost one of my childhood friends at 22 in 07.

My point exactly - I donā€™t buy into this attempting thing as being with the fullest of intentions of ending ones life

Sorry to hear about your mate btw

No worries pal, sometimes it can be a cry for help but if it continues it normally ends up in a death.

Itā€™s terrible sad, for all concerned especially for the family but most particularly his/her mother from my experience. In my opinion itā€™s awful to say but the mother never gets fully over it.

Fucking horrible stuff. Life is tough.

It is just a cry for help or an escape route from the pain. Numerous examples where people attempt it but panic and immediately realise they donā€™t want to die. A man in our area drank weed killer before, immediately sought help, drove to hospital but it was too late. The poor cunts just want the pain to end and canā€™t see there is help there.

While I see where youā€™re coming from it is never going to be an exact science.

Some people may look for what they perceive to be the less painful way out. This may have the result in a failed attempt but it doesnā€™t mean that they didnā€™t want to die.

Ray has a bizarre disdain for someone who canā€™t kill themselves properly.

That shouldnā€™t be funny but it is.

Reminds me of sideshow Bob, "Attempted murder! How is that even a crime? Do they ever give anyone a crime for ā€œattemptedā€ Chemistry? "

TFK is a high-achievers forum

In fairness, some just make a hames of it.

I know 2 people who tried suicide, failed & have gone on to live seemingly happy normal lives since.

I know one was a cry for help. The other Iā€™m not so sure but the person seems fine since.

No not a disdain at all of course not, but pity would probably be more apt

One of RTTs townies jumped into the Shannon one night only to find the tide out and himself stuck up to the waist in mud,I think he finished the job since though,Ray would be proud of him

True story about an American guy a good few years ago.
Decided he wanted to make sure so:

First he drank arsenic before jumping from a home made gallows over a cliff while trying to shoot himself in the head at the same time.
The rope broke, gallows collapsed under his weight.
He missed with the shot to the head as he jumped over.
Landed in the sea and swallowed a load of salt water that made him puke up the arsenic.
He swam ashore safely.

True story.

Iā€™m gonna have to get a link on this. That seems made for snopes.

I read it on the ā€œWorld Pageā€ on the back of the Independent many years ago.
Pre-internet. Always remember it.

Ah yes. Pre-internet.
When you could write or say pretty much anything and no one could disprove you.
