The issue with stadiums is what is leaving Italian clubs behind at the minute, only Juventus have a good model in place and they will dominate for the next couple of years due to it. Serie A will continue to lose their best players for the next couple of seasons but should be kept ticking over by the high quality and depth of the domestic players and the excellent scouting networks of Italian sides, from a football point of view Italian clubs are very well ran, but commercially it’s a different story. Inter, Napoli and Roma have announced intentions to build new stadiums but whether these stadiums go ahead is another question, it’s vital for Italian clubs that they do.
There’s a very good explanation here:

Not sure of the commercial slant on these deals but I think they cater for a certain degree of trickery with the books. From a solely footballing perspective, they allow bigger clubs to farm out some of their younger players for a couple of years and let them develop while keeping a share in the player. If the player does well the club who developed them should get financially rewarded off the bigger club. It also allows for a side to make a half-committment on a player, if things go well they can go for his full-rights, if not they don’t have to, the selling club also gets a benefit out of it in that they receive some money and if things go well will receive more. I think they are a much safer methods for club with regards the riskiness of transfers. I like the co-ownership deals and think they are of mutual benefit to both clubs.
thanks rocko.
His agent said he will be at Liverpool this season but who knows. If Brendan doesn’t get his targets he may just hold onto him as he would suit the system of playing in front of two holding midfielders that Brendan likes… No one else could really play it at present so he will have suit it regardless!
Thanks Totti.
Sky Italia reporting Borini as a done deal, €13.5m. Thought we should have got more out of them.
Do you think Joe Cole should be given another chance CM? He’s another player I could possibly see doing well for Brendan Rodgers as the style of play might suit him but you’d have to assume his best days are behind him at this stage and he’s on high wages too. Could he “reinvent” himself in a slightly different position? Personally I’d like to see if Aquilani could do a job for us, he’s never really got a proper chance. I’m undecided on Cole.
Hopefully this will turn out to have been an excellent night for Liverpool Football Club. Welcome and good luck, Fabio.
Joe Cole is finished. Was subbed regularly for the second half of last season in the French league. You will probably hear him being bigged up over the next few weeks to get the cunt out on loan or sold. Fuck him off to West ham.
Been done since Wednesday apparently.
Good signing at a decent price, lessons have been learned. The story going around is that the English players brought in last year, are all being shipped out!
PSG will be raging they didn’t spend money a year ago when Henderson and Downing were available for the sort of money they’ve thrown away on Zlatan and Thiago Silva.
Rodgers knows the score. Liverpool could do quite well this season I feel.
Downing was a “low-risk” signing according to the always knowledgeable posters on RAWK.
I suppose the only risks he carried were the risk of losing all the money we paid for him and the risk that he’d drag the rest of the team down with him through his utter shiteness. And the risk of him getting himself locked up for beating up his girlfriend, I nearly forgot that one.
Henderson will be the new Bryan Robson. He made Andrea Pirlo look like Glenn Whelan in that 26 minute cameo in the Engerpool-Italy game.
I’ve been impressed with his few interviews and the soundings coming out of training. The players are all raving about of ball work and drills he has them doing.
In other news it looks like young Robinson is to be loaned out to Norwich, and the Dempsey deal is also rumoured to benearly done.
The talk of Carroll leaving is also looking to be true.
Spurs have agreed a fee with city for Adebayor. Personal terms to be agreed. Fee rumoured to be below £10m.
The Gazzetta believe Milan will target Rolando and Tevez as replacements, while most other outlets say it will be Astori and Destro. Other names being mentioned are Dede, Ogbonna, Carroll and Dzeko. Milan should really try and get rid of the likes of Robinho and Emanuelson if they are cleaning house. Mesbah was close to Torino, but I’m not sure if it’s a done deal yet. Diarra and Kolarov are two other names supposedly high on Galliani’s list.
In other idle speculation, Inter and Juve have been linked with a swap deal for Pazzini and Krasic - Juve would be the big benefactors here I feel. They are also supposed to be trying to hijack Napoli’s move for Armero. Napoli have themselves being linked with Fiorentina’s Valon Behrami and an audacious move for Kaka. Genoa have signed Canini from Cagliari for €2.5, this a bargain, he’s every bit as good as the overrated Astori and he’s rated at €15m.
Kaka will probably end up back at Milan…
Maxi Rodriguez has left Liverpool to join Newell’s Old Boys
That’s a shame . The type of football Rogers plays would have suited him but he has wanted to go home for a while.
Thank you Maxi pad!
