That’s a shame . The type of football Rogers plays would have suited him but he has wanted to go home for a while.

Thank you Maxi pad!
Seemed to do ok whenever he got a run . Which was rare enough.

Hopefully this will turn out to have been an excellent night for Liverpool Football Club. Welcome and good luck, Fabio.
Big step up for the lad.

Ron Vlaar, Dutch centre back, apparently at Villa Park today to complete his move to the EPL giants.

Vlaar and Dunne were probably the two worst centre backs at the Euros. Given without doubt the worst keeper there.

Any time I’ve seen Vlaar I’ve thought he was
shite.

Looks like Gamberini and Behrami will move to Napoli from Fiorentina in an €8.5m move. Behrami is versatile and an energetic player and is a good player, not really a massive fan of Gamberini and he’s a player who is getting on, now 31, but he should be decent cover. Andrea Poli is also poised to join Napoli from Sampdoria for a fee in and around €5m, he’ll be a very good signing. All has gone quiet on the Armero and Cuadrado front - both were meant to be signing last week for Napoli but Armero is now strongly linked with Juve and Cuadrado with Fiorentina. Lorenzo De Silvestri has joined Sampdoria from Fiorentina as well.

If they can get 20m go for it…

Andy Carroll wants to return to Newcastle United

ANDY CARROLL wants to make a sensational return to Newcastle United – but only after giving new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers a piece of his mind.

Carroll has told his representatives a simple message: “Take me home.”

The Chronicle understands that Carroll has been told he is not part of Rodgers’ plans at Anfield even though United’s first bid has been rejected.

However, the Magpies will return with another.

The issue that has really disappointed Carroll is that he wasn’t even given pre-season to prove himself to a new manager.

And although Carroll is a self-confessed Toon supporter and former season ticket holder, from a professional point of view being told he can go without being judged fairly has left the player somewhat annoyed.

As Carroll told the Chronicle in January 2011, he never wanted to leave Newcastle to start with.

Now he has told his representatives that Newcastle are at the top of his wish-list and the sooner a move back to Tyneside can be quickened up the better.

Whether United’s interest in Carroll signals the end of the road for Demba Ba remains to be seen.

A close pal of Carroll told the Chronicle last night: “Newcastle are interested – and Andy wants to come home. He’s already told Liverpool that too.

“From a professional point of view Andy is miffed that he wasn’t given the chance to show what he can do in front of new manager Brendan Rodgers.

“He was expecting to get at least pre-season to show what he could offer him.

“He ended last season on a high and wanted to continue that.”

Carroll, at 23, still fits into Newcastle’s blueprint and has never made any secret of his love for the Magpies.

It was only last week that United boss Alan Pardew refused to kill off the rumour at his pre-season Press conference when he said: “We’ll see where Carroll treads the boards next season.

“He did very well for us and he’s had a rough ride from the media at Liverpool.”

A source from the Carroll camp continued: “Andy is still a fan. He never had any intention of quitting Newcastle to start with.”

But there are still a few hurdles yet if the deal is to become a reality.

The loan offer is with a view to a permanent transfer.

Why has Diego not been signed permanently by Atletico this season? From my limited reviewing of La Liga and Europa League last season he was excellent for them. As far as I know he had a massive bust-up with Magath last season so I’d imagine he would be unwanted.

There were a few Russian clubs interested. I think Atletico made an offer but he has been pursuing other (more lucrative) options. Don’t think he has ruled out returning to Madrid though.

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has signed Fraser Fyvie from Aberdeen to add to his tally of ex SPL players.

SSN reporting Chelsea have agreed a £25m fee with Internacional for Oscar

They’ll send him straight to their academy.

Clint Dempsey to Liverpool for 10m should be announced soon.

FSG have it up on their website.

I see Watford are being linked with moved for Pipo Inzaghi and Del Piero.

van persie to juve is akmost a done deal

dont think he is good enough for calcio

Is that the end of Carroll with the last two signings?

Borussia Monchengladbach have completed the signing of the highly rated Luuk De Jong for around €15 million

Might find forum favourite Conor Clifford there

Would be good for Del Piero to finally test himself at a higher level.

Rodgers has basically told him he’s surplus to requirements so I’d assume it is, thank fuck. Mike Ashley must be laughing his arse off

Should have happened 10 years ago. It’s a bit late in his career to try and make the step up
