If he signs anywhere with a decent defence and defensive midfielder(s) behind him he’ll do well. Utd never sorted that properly and there was too much pressure on him to be a leader and ship more of the load defensively.
He made a massive mistake chssing the money at Utd rather than sticking it out with that Juventus side. I’m sure the massive salary has been a consolation but he could have got a lot more out of his career in his mid 20s.
He could have done a lot more to help united too. He just gave up early doors and decided to run down his contract

Woolwich were the biggest spenders of any club in world soccer last summer, surpassing even Man U and state owned Citeh and Chelsea. You’d imagine that the old Bank of England club will go on a serious splurge again this summer.
