Matthias De Ligt to Bayern Munich has kind of gone under the radar. Was billed as a massive coup when Juve signed him back in 2019 so surprised to see them allow him to leave so soon afterwards without making any real profit. He could go the Arturo Vidal route of hopping between Europes top clubs on a regular basis yet.
Seems very strange he wasn’t even linked to united given their glaring deficiencies at centre back and the Ajax background.
Whats the Ajax background at united?
A lot of players signed in that window were locked into massive wages and clubs need to move them on now after the financial shitstorm around COVID.

Was just thinking the same, fair few who left turned out to be duds. Maybe that tells you Ten Fags is a great man to get a tune out of dross, or else they just got very lucky. Or possibly fairer, they just can’t play outside the Ajax system

De ligt is a fine player.
Frenkie De Jong has been one of the best players at Barcelona, but Busquetes plays in his position. Busquetes is a club legend having a renaissance and Barca feel he has another few years in him and need cash to invest elsewhere. I think DeJong will end up at Chelsea where he will be brilliant. Probably replace Jorginho.
DeLigt has been a disappointment at Juventus. He is far more raw than they had thought. Very prone to concentration lapses and rash decisions. Italian teams importing in defenders is kind of nuts anyway.
