Summer Transfer Window 2009

Declan?
That’s the trouble with imagination…

Your last sentence is correct. Suppose Milner might be moved inside but this is the worst signing at Villa Park since Emile Heskey:mad:
Can hardly blame O’Neill for only being able to attract average players to the club.

Those lads are Villa’s level.

Darren Gibson will remain a United player.

He might actually start getting a few more games with the way players are leaving and very few are arriving,in fairness his goals to starts ratio last season was terrific for a midfielder,
hes an allright sort.

TLW in ‘I love soccer’ revelation…

Glasgow Rangers have agreed a fee of 1m with Birmingham for SPL worldbeater Barry Ferguson.

1m seems to be the standard rate for SPL players these days - McCarthy seems to be off for a 1m aswell. Clubs I think have copped on.

ferguson is dirt…absolute muck…eased out the door at Ibrox as he was even holding them back both on and off the pitch…stands in midfield with his pigeon chest out as the game passes him by…badly found out in Rangers uefa cup run a few years back…is that wanker Damien Johnson still playing for Birmingham?..that will be two absolutely s*it Billy boys in centre mid for the brummies…

Lee Carsley and Keith Fahey will be knocking around aswell.

Damien Johnson has won All Ireland Gaelic Football medals with his school. Take it back scumpot, you fiend.

seriously??..I always had him down as a pure dyed in the wool Norn Iron, Windsor park’s finest harland and wolff belfast dockyards ‘sticky bun’ cunt…apologies to Damien…

Ferguson is long finished. He was decent enough in his day but he’s lost all his drive and energy and just stands there watching games pass him by these days.

He only played for the huns based on his reputation. They’ll be glad to get rid.

Just looking at this. Owen to Man Utd 25/1 at the start of the window. Barry to Man City 12/1.

Ferguson had a lump on this.
There, its solved.

TLW in ‘I love soccer’ revelation…
I put the EPL on my things i grudgingly Admire list here this Week,i wouldnt claim to support any soccer club and i dont have any preference as to who wins games,it passes the Winter at home watching it.

Downing to Villa has been confirmed. 12m and 4 year contract.

Not that id know much about this but it seems to me that Chelsea are fucking nuts not to be taking the arm off Man City offering 40 million for a 28 year old centre half, handy money no matter how you look at it,in 4 years time hes going to be worth fuck all, whats the hold up im wondering??

He doesnt want to leave just wants the same money Lampard is on 150k a week or whatever think he is on about 30k less. Thing is Lampard banged in 20 goals + again last season while Terry has a debilitating back injury and aint the force of old in any case.

Chelsea could call his bluff here but there are other factors:

a) Terry has been at Chelsea all his career. He is what Chelsea want their youths to strive for bit like Giggs and Scholes at Man Utd.
b) Carlo Ancelotti has just been appointed manager. He hardly wants his captain to leave before the season starts.
c) Carvalho also wants out. Terry leaving would leave Chelsea very short
d) As captain of England, Terry is a very positive image for the club.
e) Abramovich wanted to make Chelsea self sufficient. They have been pretty frugal in recent years in comparison to the early days under the Ruskie. Paying crazy wages is a throwback to the early days.
f) Chelsea need British players for the Champions League new rules. They are buying a few muckers just to bump up the numbers. Terry leaving wont be a help here either.

United capture Norwegian starlet

Sir Alex surprised everyone in Kuala Lumpur by announcing United have signed a mystery Norwegian.

At the team hotel in Malayisa, the boss revealed hes bolstered his squad with the capture of a promising 21-year-old. What he didnt reveal, however, was his name.

We signed a young player yesterday from Norway, who weve been looking at for two years, Sir Alex said.

We werent intending on signing anyone else after last week we feel we have a full squad but the situation accelerated to a point where other clubs started to make bids, so we had to decide whether we acted or didnt act. We decided to act and hell be the last person we sign.

When pressed for the youngsters identity, chief executive David Gill intervened, explaining: We havent officially announced it yet, so well keep that to ourselves for now.

He was signed yesterday and he needs a work permit. Hell stay on loan where he is and well look to bring him [to Manchester] in January.

Must be some player if they cant even tell anyone his name.
