Summer Transfer Window 2009

No improvement to the current European champions a lateral move for the club at best.

It’s hard to argue with results but I get the feeling Barca will improve from that tournament and with the signing of Zlatan I expect them to make up some ground on Celtic over the next few months.

It’s like the two superpowers are at different stages of development. Celtic have a complete squad, they’ve signed Fortnue, Fox, N’Guemo etc and won trophies as a result. Barca are a bit slower out of the traps so they’ve nothing won yet but they may pick up some of the trophies in the latter stages of the season, particularly if Celtic’s impressive start fades for some reason.

Either way it promises to be an epic European season.

Zlatan is the second best player in the world after Francesco Totti.

Barcelona will hopefully realise that there is nothing wrong with finishing behind a super power like Celtic and push on from here. The Wembley Cup is the big one, the one they all want to win, and hopefully Barcelona will use the upcoming Champions League campaign as a spring board for the competiton next year.

Once they get over their disappointment of course.

I would love to know what mind altering drugs one needs to get to this imaginary world.

Attack the post and not the poster, please.

Zlatan has officially signed. Barca are going to be utterly unstoppable this season. Awesome signing.

its hard to trump real madrids purchasing of kaka , ronaldo & benzema but in one fell swoop Barca have bettered them - those 3 combined wont make the same impact as zlatan who is along with totti the greatest footballer/sportsman since maradona

crouch to spurs is a done deal…

Thi thread went a while without being bumped and a few other deals went through:

Lucio from Bayern Munich to Inter.
Lisandro Lopes from Porto to Lyon to replace Benzema.
Lorik Cana from Marseille to Sunderland (class act - what the fook is he doing joining Sunderland?).
Steve Finnan was released by Espanyol and is being linked with Portsmouth.

Can’t think of some of the others off hand now.

Mentioned that to you the other evening - Bruce certainly has an excellent scouting system.

Ibra’s been given the number 9 shirt.

How many goals will he score this season, I am going to predict around 35…

What was the deal in the end?

40m + Eto’o + Hleb on loan for the season for Zlatan.

Super deal for Barca to get him for that.

It is worth remembering that Eto’o was in the last year of his contract as well…

City were still willing to pay 25mill for Eto`o .

messi +40 million would be a fair deal
