Summer Transfer Window 2009

Pennat unveiled at Zaragosa

Add in the fact he’s English and the price will rise. Lets face it he is the best English winger since John Barnes.

Valencia went for 17m - Young is miles better than him. SWP went to Chelsea for around 25m again Young is a lot better than he was back then. 30m-35m I reckon

See Villa are being linked with Jenas today

SWP is a much better player that Young ever was.

And he cost 21 million.

Not a hope!!!

Inter Milan are hopeful of tying up a deal for Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o in a swap involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Italian champions are in talks with Barca about a deal that would also see Inter get about 38m and midfielder Alexander Hleb on a season-long loan.

“Until things are wrapped up, there’s nothing to say but I am confident,” stated Inter president Massimo Moratti.

“Eto’o is one of the most important players on the market. Along with Ibra, he’s one of the most wanted.”

Moratti added: “It’s a good chance for us to have another champion.”

Ibrahimovic was the top scorer in Serie A last season and Moratti had nothing but praise for the 27-year-old.

“He’s a very serious professional,” he said of the Swedish international. "He has always behaved well with us.

“He helped us win the championship and he was top scorer last year.”

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola, who transfer-listed Eto’o last year, has said he believes the Cameroon striker should leave the club.

“I am convinced that the best thing for Barca is for Eto’o to leave,” stated Guardiola.

“Could I be mistaken? Maybe so. But I am here to make these decisions.”

Guardiola added Eto’o’s departure would be good for the team.

“I feel that it is best for the club and the team. It’s a question of feelings,” said Guardiola.

"I am not here to change anyone’s character, but I can decide on which players I want to count on for the season.

“After what we won, we had to change the dressing room. I took this decision from my experience as a footballer.”

Eto’o had been on the verge of a deal with Manchester City but Mark Hughes’s side withdrew their interest last week.

The forward signed for Barcelona from Mallorca for 16m in 2004.

Sad to see Eto’o go- He was nearly out the door last Summer too. In fairness, Pep got it right getting rid of Ronaldinho and Deco so I guess I’m with him on this too. Not sure about Ibrahimovic though-seems an extortionate price for a lazy cunt.

Wright Phillips is very underrated. Banged goals in for fun during his first spell at City, and never got a chance at Chelsea. I think the only reason they bought him was to keep Liverpool away from him.

Not a great season last year but he is quality - I am convinced of that. I would have him ahead of Young, whose so called quality has never really been apparent to me.

Arsenal I believe.

82 appearances in 3 years at Chelsea would suggest otherwise. :guns: A pitiful four goals in that time.

SWP cant cross the ball and has no belief in himself in big games. He was criminially overated during his first spell at City due in the main that he’s English and that his step dad was Ian Wright. Completely found out at Chelsea where he was totally out of his depth and at international level he is still an embarrasment despite countless chances.

No wonder your convinced

Megson is a very, very under-rated manager. The Bolton fans were calling for his head last season after he inheriting an absolute mess and steadying the ship. I like the type of player he targets, much like him they’re often under-rated, and they won’t cost an arm and a leg either.

Steve Bruce has identified Aston Villa’s Nigel Reo-Coker to steel to Sunderland’s midfield.

The 25-year-old is expected to leave Villa Park this summer after an uninspired two seasons with the Midlands club and has also been the subject of interest from Middlesbrough.

Tottenham have confirmed the signings of defenders Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker from Sheffield United.

Fulham have signed John Arne Riise’s brother from Lillestrom

2 right backs afaik.

Tottenham’s right back roster.

Corluka
Hutton
Chimbonda
Walker
Naughton

I reckon they sold a decent one in Gunter to Nottm Forest last week.

Roy Keane is about to do one for the boys as Colin Healy is on his way to Ipswich:rolleyes:

Hartlepool had already made an offer for him which city accepted so your point is hardly valid.

Eidur Gudjohnsen wanted by West Ham.

A very good player in my opinion. Can play up top by himself, off the frint man or even in midfield. Never adhered himself much to Liverpool fans but I would take him to Anfield.

He is 30 but we need a back up striker and could get him for next to nothing.

A clever player alright but as Liverpool are a defensive minded team they need a striker with pace to play up top alone. Otherwise defences could just push up to the half way line knowing that its unlikely that anyone will get behind them.

Gudjohnsen like Robbie Keane is too slow for this role but would hold the ball up better and be better in the air than Keane was alright. Not that that would be hard.

Zlatan’s in Barca to finalise his move to the 2009 Wembley Cup runners up. What a magnificent player and what a deal for the club who finished behind fellow global giants, Celtic, in the tournament held in London last weekend.

barca will be unstoppable next year- even better than the team that humbled manchester in May - messi & co will be honoured to play with zlatan
