Summer Transfer Window 2013
Richard Dunne is to be released by Aston Villa.

Liverpool have been linked with Manchester City’s Kolo Toure.
Looks like this is going ahead according to the Guardian. Bit of a strange one as Liverpool’s problems stem from defending set pieces and crosses into the box-Toure ain’t going to solve that problem.

Perhaps they have a few Club cars they need shifting?

United being linked with an €18 million move for Barcelona’s Tiago.

While Tiago is a noce footballer I wouldn’t have thought he is the type of player United need. He is a fine ball player but relatively light and considering that Kagawa plays a similar style role as him and he can’t get in the United side it would make you wonder.

Moyes should stick to what he knows, kick and rush

If you are to believe the reports Comolli looked after the money so he was responsible. Kenny said he wanted him is all.

I think this is a disaster of a signing for Liverpool, I dont think Toure is that good of a defender. :frowning: I see a deal has been agreed with West Ham for Andy Carroll.

And if I don’t believe them?

Deal with it

do you think Torres was worth 50 million when he was sold ?.. IMHO he started becoming the player he is now during the World cup in Africa…he had some awful misses in that tournament and then done his leg by the end of tournament…everone thought he was just in a huff at Liverpool but we know now he was just shit… he has never been same player since…

I presume this is in response to the Dumb rating I gave you when you tried to argue that the Carroll signing at 35 million was ok as they had received way over the odds for Torres from Chelsea.

What a ridiculous statement. It is of no significance where the money came from, the fact is that Liverpool blew the most of it.

He went into that world cup after a pretty poor second half to the season with Liverpool and was carrying a knee injury into the WC. 2010 was a poor year for him on a whole, form wise

of course it does…it shows how crazy the market was at the time…

Torres has a lot up on the clock as well for a relatively young player.

true…but I think that hamstring injury in final of WC has affected him hugely …he still looks like he’s afraid to run with that explosive speed he used to have… its like he’s afraid hamstring will go again…

I think anyone who knew about the deal and didn’t prevent it going ahead for that price shares some blame. I include whatever office lackey sent the fax and Dalglish in that. Dalglish didn’t negotiate the price but he knew what chunk of the Torres money was being spent on Carroll. He should have pulled the plug.

didn’t Chelsea originally offer 25 million for Torres and ended up paying 50 million?..

Torres got close to 25 goals this season, how many did Carroll get?

Less than 25?

Looks like Higuain is off to Juve, don’t think he’s the player they are looking for - although he will be an upgrade on their attacking options. Can’t see a Higuain-Llorente pairing work.

Surprised that Higuain hasn’t held out 'til Pelligrini is in his new job. He was immense under Pelligrini for Real and if available he would be interested
