Summer Transfer Window 2013
Everton sign keeper Joel Robles from atletico Madrid on a 5 year contract…

3 signings in two days…I expect baines or Fellini or both to be sold shortly!!
Two lads from Wigan and a reserve Atletico Madrid keeper.

Not a lot to write home about.

Granted Liverpool aren’t much better.

He is only a tramp. Good riddance.

As long as Liverpool get a decent price for him. Other than let him rot in the reserves.

Suarez has carried Liverpool on his back for two seasons and this is the respect he gets?

Hang your heads in shame.

+1

If he does go I bare him no ill will. He is a champion and deserves to be playing at the highest level.

He is also a beautiful person.

Not loyal.

There isn’t 10 footballers in the EPL who could be classed as loyal

Scholes, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs( though purely in football terms…)

None of the big teams ever wanted any of them.

Of course not Totti…you really believe the shit you spout don’t you. That or you need to improve the quality of your wumning.

Which big club did Scholes, Giggs or Neville ever turn down?

Utd refused bids from Inter for Scholes. Milan were interested in Giggs as were Juventus. Neville was never going to leave Utd so bids were pointless.

And where did Scholes, Giggs and Neville ever turn down a big club?

So Milan, Juventus and Inter are not big clubs now?

Of course they are, but I’m wondering where about it was where Scholes, Giggs and Neville turned big clubs down.

Strootman will be a wonderful signing for whoever he goes to

Fairly obvious that if clubs were interested in players then said players would be aware of this interest. It then follows that if players do not leave their original club that either (1) the clubs cannot agree a fee or (2) that the player has no interest in leaving. Given that there was very little media speculation on the above players moving it seems obvious that the players did not push for moves so could be said to have turned down the clubs in question. Is that simple enough for you or should I draw some pictures?

Maybe I’m overlooking his biggest qualities as in his defence he was quite solid in a disciplined role for the Dutch but he does seem to be very unimaginative and ponderous on the ball and I believe that was one of Roma’s biggest failings in the midfield last season. In his general defensive role he seemed adept but I was expecting a much more dynamic player from the hype surrounding him.

No, it could not be said that they turned moves down as the opportunity never presented itself. That’s like patting yourself on the back because you didn’t cheat on your wife when an attractive lady glanced at you in the bar. Temptation is easily resistible when it’s in a discreet form.

How did the opportunity not present itself? Bids were made, interest was made very obvious. Players ignored interest=turned down moves. I fail to see what you’re finding hard to understand here.
