Super Blues 2017

Ogbene’s departure seems to have angered Cork fans so straight away I’m warming to the lad. He’ll get more opportunities with us than if he stayed there anyway.

Gradually seem to be adding a bit of depth to the squad. You’ve Turner, Clarke, Ogbene and Kenny competing for spots on the wings. Ogbene and Clarke can also play up front and provide competition for O’Flynn and Mulhall.

Still need reinforcements at the back. What’s the story with Seamus Sharkey? I really rated him and was in Cobh the night he got the bad injury. Don’t think he has been re-signed yet. We did sign that centre half from Rovers but I know nothing about him.

Realistically it’ll make no odds to Cork in the long term, he’ll go to Limerick for a couple of seasons, get some experience and eventually end up back at Cork.

Did Limerick grease his paw . Nice of see the “city” fans on seethe .

Sadly true. Turner jumped back at the first chance he got.

Cork poached him from Nemo Rangers. Is fada and bothar …

I’d imagine he’d be on a decent enough deal but then again a raw 19 year old with only a handful of league appearances wouldn’t be on a kings ransom either. He mightn’t even be first choice at the start of the season.

Afaik Sharkey was let go halfway through last season, because of the injury.

Don’t know much about O’Connor, Rovers fans didn’t seem to be too upset about losing him anyway.

Rodrigo Tosi signed today, first Brazilian to play for us. 34 year old striker, he has been training with the squad over the past while and apparently been impressive.

He has had an interesting career, stints all over the place from Switzerland to Iran to Singapore.

Decent scoring record wherever he has gone. Watched some Videos of him today on YouTube . Some from 2012 and some from last year. He certainly has lost some of his mobility in that time. Looks a strong lad and very dangerous in the air.

Will he be a cult hero or another Kanyuka ? (or whatever his name was!)

Apparently been very good in training. At least he’s a striker, though. At 34, you’d think it’s probably for no more than one season.

The club tweeting photos of the arrivals area of Shannon airport…

The fact that he apparently has had 13 clubs in 13 seasons has me worried!

At 34, not going to be a long-term signing anyway, you’d imagine.

If we do actually make a statement this season and outperform expectations, be a lot easier to get players next season you’d imagine.

Gort is only 45 mins away… a home from home.

Pat probably has a job lined up for him there during the off season.

Bastion Hery has signed. A former French Under 18 International midfielder.

Previously of Rochdale and Accrington Stanley amongst other clubs. Known for missing a crucial penalty for Carlisle at Anfield in the League Cup. The Scousers slagged him about looking like a Nando’s chicken :grinning:

Seems to be a bit of a character!

Class.

I have no idea if he’s any good, but we’re going to have a fair exotic team next year. A Frenchie, a Bermudan, a Brazilian, a Yorkshireman, a fella from Charleville and a fella from Killybegs.

Presuming that the most recent fellas are better than what we have already, if we add a couple of defenders, particularly one really good centre-back and we’ll be laughing.

Back over 2.5 goals in all our matches this season and I’d imagine you’ll end up in profit. Will concede a shed load but will also score a fair amount at the other end.

Badly need defenders.

Good reports coming from the Cobh game last week. He’s fairly strong on the ball and will be a handful for most defenders.
