Great win the management are working miracles all considered
Two points behind Sligo who have a game in hand but more importantly ahead of Bray by 9 points.
Yurt
No looking down now, only up
We have Bobs away and Sligo at home the next two games. A huge chance to get points. Limerick are playing with a freedom and a nothing to lose attitude and it is dangerous for Sligo and Bohs at the moment I think.
A wonderful night at the famous old ground.
Started off in a familiar depressing manner. Rare mistake from Brouder let the Waterford striker in, parried by the outstanding Tommy Holland but the ref adjudged a pull back by Eoin Wearen. Penalty and a red card. Up stepped Keegan but cat-like reflexes by young Holland saw him throw himself to his right and divert it around the post.
As expected the visitors had the overwhelming majority of the ball but the home side looked compact. Gradually grew into it before the ever willing Willie Fitz weaved into the box and was pulled back - stone wall peno. Billy Dennehy calmly stroked home. 1-0 as the Marketsfield erupted.
Right on half time Webster, booked for the concession of the penalty, received a second yellow for a reckless challenge on Ellis. 10 v 10.
As usual a clean sheet eluded the Super Blues. Caught on a counter attack, Waterford broke at pace and Hery ran unimpeded for about 60 yards before lashing home. Tremendous finish from the former Limerick FC fan favourite.
However he was outdone late on by a miraculous strike from Captain Marvel Duggy. He had an effort blocked a few mins before but wouldn’t be denied a second time. Picked it up about 30 yards out, took a touch and then blasted it into the top corner. An absolute peach.
All hands on deck for the last frantic few mins, Waterford threw the kitchen sink at it, the convicted sex offender introduced to their attack and roundly jeered with every touch. From a last gasp corner a header was stopped by Holland but the visitors were incensed as they felt it was over the line. The ref and Lino were hounded but the appeals fell on deaf ears as the home side held on for a famous victory. Myself and @chops91 shared a joyous bear hug at full time amid raucous scenes. The players and management deserved that. Ran themselves into the ground.
One set of Munster cunts sent home with tae in their mugs, hopefully a portent for Sunday.
Anyway I’ve a days drinking ahead of me at a wedding tomorrow and will be toasting Duggy.
Fair play to tommy and the players aswell. With all the shit going on in the background they put on a great performance on tv last week and followed it up this week with an impressive win. We are playing well, just need things to go our way like the Waterford chance at the end (photographic proof it was behind the line apparantly). The passion and work rate the players are showing is fantastic. We will beat Sligo and bohs if we show the same determination
And as @dodgy_keeper said the joyous scenes in the stand when the final whistle went was something to behold. Hopefully we get to see more of it
Game just about to start. Massive night. Could do with a win. Hon the blues
A trimming in Baile Phib.
Looking forward to condemning youse Muldoon cunts to relegation at Tolka Park real soon.
Great read.
Name on the cup, innit.
Name is not on the cup.
Chastening defeat, Dundalk on a different planet. Just a class team. Was game over as soon as they scored. Limerick battled well but outclassed all over.
After Paddy McCourt, Duffy is probably the best LOI player in recent times. Such a good footballer. Dundalk are a joy to watch.
At least Munster got hammered tonight too.
Would Duffy be good enough to go to england?
Richie towell?
