I actually thought JPP was very unlucky on that call. Mahomes got absolutely creamed, but JPP was clearly trying to strip the ball as Mahomes threw and didnt really hit him or go through him, but the pressure from in front of Mahomes pushed him back forcing him to be caught by one player hitting him high and JPP falling down and making him buckle under his tackle. JPP certainly wasnt going out to hit Mahomes under the knee.
Odd, the Chiefs last year were one of those 8 teams with that record. Itās almost like they have a problem with getting flags. The biggest flag that hurt them was the offside call on the FG attempt. Again, that was utterly dumb football lining up in an arc on the edge.
Thereās been a glut of roughing the kicker calls this year as well on punt attempts, mostly honest attempts to block the kick
