Super Bowl LV - The triumphant trail to Tampa (Part 2)

Is that a Def Leppard T Shirt sheā€™s wearing?

Why did the Chiefs barely not run the ball at all? Iā€™d have thought that with Mahomes under constant pressure and Kelce and Hill being double-teamed that it might have been something to try.

I think they started chasing the game way too early. Looking for big plays the whole time. They had a few runs and with the way the Bucs were blitzing and going deep in coverage, it was ripe for a few runs to keep them back, but they just never did it to any great extent.

That was a lovely bit of tauntingā€¦ after the regular season gameā€¦ @maroonandwhite said it, hubris.

Yeah I think the sequence of events before the half fucked with the chiefs heads and seems to garner very little attention and they had to chase the game then by throwing it 50 times. 55 seconds left with Bucs with 1 time out after Mickens runs in out of the endzone and inexplicably Chiefs start calling time outs thinking they might get the ball back. They must have not seen the NFC championship game when Brady runs a similar play to Scotty Miller only this time to Mike Evans in a similar spot and the pass interference is called. They deserved to lose for calling those time outs alone. Braindead stuff.

Heā€™ll take the play but you know in those tight situations before half time all Brady is looking for is a flagā€¦ 3 points the target, TD a bonus.

Lowest viewing numbers for a superbowl in years which is strange considering the 2 QBā€™s involved and the big curtailment in superbowl parties.

ā€œUnofficialā€ streaming doing a big job Iā€™d say. Two small market teams also, I know the QBs are big names but that doesnā€™t seem to shift the dial like major markets do.

There was a bigger following in the Boston market than Tampa Bay, which says it all

I know FOX and CBS broadcast the superbowl in alternate years but I thought CBS was free to air and therefore it wouldnā€™t have to be streamed. I get your point though that they are very small market teams compared to having an LA, TX or NY team there.

It will be lower next year with the Bills v Tampa

Nah the Bills are box-office.

Your chess vs checkers comment was spot on.

I would have thought the Bills had a large following being a traditional type team that hasnt had much success lately? And eating into the large NYC market too.

Americans are odd though. Sure you had thousands of them just quitting following their team over the whole Colin Kap issues

I meant from the point of view that the Bills losing is inevitable.

This shows just the most supported team in each county, but the bills havenā€™t much territory. Actually have a huge following and travelling support in southern Ontario.
