I would love to have seen him gone to a team like the 49ers or Patriots who look to use TEs as match up weapons. Hard to see it happening now though.
Can he block?
His blocking isnāt seen as a weakness, but you arenāt drafting him to be anything other than an occasional extra body to block.
Falling to Detroit?
Atlanta? Donāt target the TE.
Cincy? Maybeā¦ but bigger question marks.
Miami? Iām a big Gesicki fan. Not a need IMO. Wideout?
Lions have Hockenson already. I think they would be intrigued but would be surprise if they went for him. I think Lions are going to go best player available given the holes on the roster and I donāt think any position is out.
If Fields or Lance were to fall they could be take, same with Sewell add to that Pitts, the three WRs and Parsons.
Best case for the Lions I would think is that Pitts and Mac Jones are both gone off the first 6 picks meaning that one of Fields/Lance/Smith/Chase/Waddle/Parsons/Sewell are there for them. There isnāt really a bad choice to make.
I get the feeling that while Parsons ticks a lot of boxes there are character and off field red flags which may put them off. While Devanta Smith is probably as clean and high calibre a prospect as you could come across so wouldnāt be surprised if his name is on the card.
If Kyle Pitts ran in a straight line he could have ran in an even faster time. The anti DK Metcalf.
Kyle Pitts will market himself as an NFL wide receiver. There is a big difference with Top NFL TE pay deals and WR pay deals. Jimmy Graham sought the same treatment in New Orleans when he was any good. There is a good chance Pitts will now go before any WR in the draft.
Anti doping.
When you look at the pay day Tyler Lockett is just after getting and compare it to that to the contract Kittle and Kelce got then you could hardly blame him.
Jets have traded Darnold to the Panthers!!
Fair play Jets, Donald sucks
Jets taking Wilson or Fields then.
Panthers out of the mix for a rookie QB. Denver and Pats potentially in play for whichever QBs the Niners donāt take.
What will happen Teddy Bridgewater? With Darnold there his trade value is now pretty low. Do they cut him? Do the Saints or Denver send a 4th rounder to get him?
Teddy would be a good fit in Denver
They supposedly want a vet to push Lock too. If Denver are out there could well be one of the touted QB left at 9 for them.
Draft really starts at 4 and the Falcons now.
Itās a good move for Darnold. Joe Brady runs a very dynamic offence was getting big performances out of the likes of PJ Walker last year at QB - if there is anything worth salvaging it is as good a stop as he could have landed.
If the Niners take Mac Jones someone is coming up for Fields
Teddy could dink and dunk and check down all day in Denver with Gordon, Jeudy and a very good young TE in Fant, Sutton to keep the defences honest, heās a safe pair of hands, Iād take him over Lock all day long
Be interesting to see what the Panthers do at 8 now. Tackle, WR and Parsons all in play. Could even reach for a cornerback
Iāve a feeling Darnold will actually look like an NFL QB with a new team, the Jets canāt get out of their own way
