Super Bowl LVI - The intricate incline to Inglewood (Part 1)

This is a very deep offensive line class. Quality players will be got in round 2 and 3 and solid plug in and play guys drafted in day three.

The big winners from the draft I’d say are the Broncos with Surtain and the Bears with Fields. By “winner” I mean did better than they probably expected.

It would be hilarious if Fields turned into a good starting QB for the Bears now but realistically he’ll just be mediocre and their good draft won’t make much difference either way. There are a lot of QBs after being drafted, they can’t all be good.

I think the Cowboys and Vikings had “wins” both ended up trading back, getting additional picks and still ended up with the player they were likely to draft.

Lance, Horn, Leatherwood, Jamin Davis, Stokes, Turner and the two running backs were reaches.

The Broncos took an elite corner but it wasn’t a position of need. When you pass on Fields and Jones, you better pray your Teddy & Drew dream ticket gets it done. (SPOILER ALERT: I don’t think they do.)

Vikings were the big winners in my mind. Acquired picks and got the guy they would’ve taken regardless.

Justin Herbert will sleep soundly tonight too.

Raiders and Giants the most underwhelming picks.

I’ll be keeping an eye on Elijah moore tomorrow. He’ll push Chase & Waddle for top rookie WR.

I assume the Giants were going to take Devonta Smith only to be gazumped by the Eagles.

Raiders took a pick they could have got in the late second to early third round, Gruden is having a mare and his ego is the main reason.

Yeah, great pounce by Howie. I’d have had Darrisaw and Bateman better options for the Giants.

3 years in a row they’ve had Thursday night shockers.

Happy enough the Patriots got Jones at 15. Most of the talk was that there would be no QB left then. Considering a lot of projections had him going at 3 to the niners and other projections that needed the Patriots to go into the top 10 to get him, to still be on the board at 15 is a win for them. Parsons and Horn were two defensive players that had they dropped may have been snapped up instead if Jones wasnt still on the board. Similar with Devonta Smith who would be a handy receiver to pick up. They have pick 14 in the next round, be interesting if the go for the small Rondale Moore who could suit the Patriots style of play or go defensive.

happy enough with that. welcome aboard gregory

Niners will be picking 32nd so those firsts won’t be worth a jot

Well you have to assume they did their homework. I watch a lot of college football but other than highlights had seen little of Lance, he hasn’t played since early 2019. Bit you can see why they like him, even though playing for a smaller college 0 INTs and 1,100 yards running in the 19 season. Prior to his season being cancelled there were a number of scouts promoting him as a genuine #1 pick. Time will tell but I think he has far more attributes than Jimmy, mobility being #1. Unlikely he will start any games in 2021 but that could change if Jimmy gets injured again.

The real draft starts tonight

Jimmy G is garbage

Chris Simms and Florio are convinced he will start, using the logic that he’s already sat out 2020 and he cant sit out again.

Rodgers would disprove that, albeit he had more starts with Cal.
