Itās a class action so itās open to any other minority coaches (including position coaches and GMs) to join the suit. Youād be amazed if this is the first time a candidate has found out the job is gone before he has had an interview. Plenty stories of those candidates turning up for interview and the owners not bothering attending.
The NFL coming out and calling the suit āwithout meritā is a real misstep. They could have thrown Ross under the bus, thereās little doubt the leaks coming out of Miami about Flores being too abrasive, or too hard on Tua etc; were coming from the ownership. They will have to settle, they wonāt want the Maras or Belichick dragged to the witness stand.
There is a case in fairness. Just look at when the raiders appointed Gruden. He was the guy before any interviews. They hastily staged a couple of sham ones to comply with the Rooney rule but it was window dressing.
Iād say itās a genuine issue for him, he was very prominent in stuff around the George Floyd/BLM movement.
He got sacked for doing his job too well, ie he won too many games for the owners liking (Culley at the Texans in the same boat). Then they are briefing against him when heās going for his next job. All that background noise about him being too difficult is no coincidence.
Whatever about the race angle which Iām sure has plenty of merit to it, Flores comes across as a choir boy who didnāt know how to play the game.
The bit about his refusal to tamper Watson is bizarre, any coach worth their salt would facilitate it considering their QB situation and the fact the SA cases hadnāt been filed or mooted at that point.
Yeh Cian still isnāt a fan of Allen. I think these rankings were compiled after that poor playoff performance against Houston where Allen made some bone headed plays including a Jimmy G style hot potato offload in the final drive.
Not many thought Herbert had it in him to make a splash in the NFL,
It was just me Iād say, he wouldnāt have gotten the start that year of it hasnāt been for a really bizarre injury to Tyrod Taylor
QB whispering ranking is an art and a science. Not a lot of people get that, they are prisoners of bias just look at the yahoos posting on here. Cian Fahey has a bit to go yet but heās not the worst out there
Justin Herbert is a big athlete who showed off minimal accuracy but a lot of arm strength in college. It will be a major upset if heās an effective rookie quarterback.
