I suppose the Vikings had little choice, they had to lower his cap hit which was huge and if they traded him they would only get similar draft capital to what a Jimmy G would fetch so no real upgrade there.

Pretty sure his last contract was fully guaranteed as well and he played on a couple of franchise tags as well. Kirk winning at the business of football at least.

Shows even a medium level chucker can clean up if he falls in to the right circumstances.
There are few teams stuck in a stick or twist situation with QBs and it leads to these kind of deals. Better the devil you know.
