Looks like it will be Mayo.

Iā€™ve been watching the game for decades.

Do you really think 20 something ranked QB Brady won them the 01 Super Bowl?

An awful pity the game Sunday isnā€™t in Green Bay, 12 inches of snow there tomorrow and going to be -20 deg on Sunday, proper football weather

I think that is a poor take. Bill may be gruff but he certainly doesnā€™t lack people skills or emotional intelligence- he knows exactly when to crack the whip and when to ease off. Given the amount of coaches and players that worked under him over the last quarter century very few have a negative view of the man.

It is the reason the patriots way has failed everywhere else is because the likes of Patricia, McDaniels, Judge, Mangini etc were simply assholes without the emotional intelligence that BB had.
BB has a great ability to be bluntly honest with players to their face and not come across as an asshole in the way Patricia, McDaniels etc do. You canā€™t teach that type of skill.

I think your selective quoting of me was a poor takeā€¦on purpose? The point I made was he wasnā€™t the best personnel guy, he had his favourites, and he was wedded to a player type from 20 years ago. Itā€™s hardly a revelation to me he was gruff but respected.

Plus itā€™s fair to say Brady got sick of him, Mac jones and others didnā€™t gel with him. Thatā€™s the most important part of the job almost. Have a functional relationship with the qb. Your view of him is already rose tinted.

The whole quote

People skills and personnel skills are two very different things though. Itā€™s tough to keep a successful franchise going for quarter of a century especially when you are losing coordinators every couple of years - a lot of HCs in the NFL never had to face that issue.

BB got some quality performances out of guys who looked done in the league over the past few seasons - unfortunately it was all on the defensive side of the ball - he just wasnā€™t able to do the same on offence. What makes it worse is their offence looked better last year with Patricia calling the shots than it did this season

Billā€™s media/camera persona is not Bill the coach/ person. Heā€™s purposely a cunt to the mediaā€¦ But 98.4% of ex players all love Bill and in interviews they often relay him cracking jokes and taking the piss out guys.

Itā€™s kind of sad the way these wonderful coach/player combos end.

The media then turn it into a Brady v Bill thing.

The man went to the Patriots Halloween party one year dressed as a pirate.

yes, thatā€™s his halloween costume.

Aaaaararrrrrr

Jost WOW

Mayo for the Superbowl.

Mayo confirmed

Did he finish in 2018?

Around then yeahā€¦ Heā€™s been highly regarded in-house for a few years now. There was a few inquiries from other orgs last year about potential defensive coaches jobs and i think Kraft and Belichick assured him of his future with the Patriots so i think this was always coming

Browns @ Texans
Texans are feisty and Stroud has performed well above expectations but while the Browns are limited on offence I think Gym Shorts defence is a serious proposition especially for a rookie QB in the play offs.
Prediction - Browns

Dolphins @ Chiefs
Dolphins are a weird one - serious offensive output early in the year but looking at their schedule they had one win all season against a side with a winning record. Beat up on defence against a chiefs offence struggling to find a groove - chiefs defence has been very good all year though. If the dolphins had close to a full hand they would have a punchers chance - chiefs d will get it done
Prediction - Chiefs

Steelers @ Bills
TJ Watt is a massive loss- bills are just finding ways to win. Think the Steelers will play them hard but come up short.
Prediction - Bills

Packers @ Cowboys
Packers have a punchers chance but Dallas just have too much speed on both sides of the ball
Prediction- Cowboys

Rams @ Lions
A game with a lot of subtext - Rams have the passing game to beat anyone but neither team have particularly stout defences. Rams are 8-1 with the one defeat coming against the Ravens in OT but it was a soft enough schedule while the Lions are rounding back into form after a poor 4 week stretch in late November early December. A raucous home crowd and dominant run game to get the win for the Lions
Prediction - Lions

Eagles @ Bucs
The Eagles surely win here? Surely. Given how poor they have been the late 6 weeks or so it is hard to know. Heart says Baker delivers. Winner will be lambs to the slaughter in San Fran next week
Prediction - Bucs
