SuperBowl XLIX- The Dusty Path to Phoenix, Arizona

Not long now… Draft and FA coming fast… Hopes and aspirations here.

Pats cap is fucked somewhat with Hernandez …and signing Amendola for big bucks only for Edleman to do the job he was brought in for, and is now a FA. Big question about resigning Talib also due to his injuries… I’d resign both tho. I’m not sure about Blount however…

Anyway, I’ll take Riley Cooper off Philly for a start. But a TE is a must along with a DT.

If the D can stay relatively healthy and Brady gets one or two more targets this team will be there or there abouts again. There is a core of 5/6 rookies this year who got a heck of a lot of playing time that will stand to them next year…

How do you feel about Blount?

:confused::oops:

Jared Allen please. And I’d like to see Del Rio shipped to a place far away from the Mile High.

Draft will be all about the secondary and Lineback unit.

One of Decker and Moreno will likely head away in free agency unless Peyton takes a hit in his money.

You’re a fucking moron. If you think Del Rio is bad for the Broncos, then you really have no idea.

Decker will test FA, Moreno is replaceable

Things all good in Seattle

Young dominant team with it’s best years ahead you’d like to think.

The only problems will be cap related. Some of our crown jewels are playing for peanuts, particularly Sherman and Russell. These guys will be due monster contracts soon and it is going to be a huge job juggling things around and keeping this team together and staying under the cap.

First up is Earl Thomas, he is playing at the top of his game and will be looking for about $9 million per annum. Michael Bennett, Golden Tate are others who are out of contract and will hopefully be kept. Sidney Rice will count $9.7 million against the cap next year and will be cut to make room.

It’s going to be a huge challenge for Pete Carroll and John Schneider to keep this team together, but it’s not a bad problem to have.

Del Rio did very well to keep the Broncos D performing at such a high level after losing 5 starters to season ending injuries. The Broncos must also rue the whole debacle surrounding Dumervil’s departure. They had no outside pressure last night and Wilson had an easy day at the office. It was a monumental gaffe allowing Dumervil to walk.

I just think his time in Denver is done. Time to move him on.

Yeah you reckon they’ll fire him or something? Fucking Jesus. He could have had the USC job if he wanted, and he’ll be a hot HC candidate next year. Move him on :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Bennett is the priority according to well-in sources. They’ll also try to get deals done for Sherman and Thomas this off-season, and there’s strong reports that Thomas’s deal will get priority as he is viewed as more integral to the D. I’m not sure Tate will be kept, they’ll almost certainly go TE in the 1st Round, adding to Baldwin, Harvin and Kearse, and there’ll be plenty of Tate calibre players available in FA anyway.

Niners will be back again next year,Gore is pushing on a bit now and a few lads are free including Boldin(need him badly) Crab will be a big plus to have for a full season and a couple of pacy rookie WRs are the main thing needed now.D is fine along with Seattle they are miles ahead of anyone and getting Bowman fit for an early season return is prority.

My own personal opinion is that we will re-up Thomas no matter what it takes. He was drafted a Seahawk and is an integral member of the legion of boom. He is very much part of the ethos of the team and will not be allowed to walk.

Bennett came to us on a cheap, one year prove it deal as he had shoulder issues. He has won his ring and will now want to get paid. I doubt we will be able to give his as much dough as some other clubs and I wouldn’t blame him for chasing the money. If we were to get him back on a team friendly deal it would be a massive coup for the front office. But I think it’s unlikely.

Tate is another from Carroll’s first draft and is well respected within the organisation, I don’t know if there will too big a market out there so hopefully we can get him back, he’s a great squad player.

Sherman is entering the final season of his rookie deal and will be getting a paltry $1.3 million. It makes no sense to get him to sign a deal now. He will be looking for Revis money, 6 years $96 million:eek:. It is going to be tough getting a deal done with him as allowing him to leave is simply not an option.

John Idzik was the mastermind behind that team, it’s only a matter of time before the power shifts to the Jets.

Most NFL Network types on Twitter were confident that Bennett was remaining a Seahawk over the weekend.

How can you possibly predict what position their first pick will be? They’ll be massively dependent on what happens before them.

@Mark Renton Kudos for starting the thread but any chance you’d rename it Super Bowl XLIX - By The Time We Get to Phoenix?

It’s their only glaring weakness, and the overwhelming consensus is that TE is the direction they’ll take. It’s a deep TE pool, so even if 3 go head of pick 32, they’ll still be able to pick a quality player

I didn’t realise Gerhart was a free agent, he would be a massive upgrade on Blount and I’d gladly take him.

Bob Kraft has come out and said they will pay Talib the going rate for a good player who has a bad injury record. For the top CB on the team, he has left 2 AFC championship games in a row now, so durability, which was a factor, is a huge factor with him. unless he is willing to negotiate, I’d say he is gone.

Big coming out story at home overnight. Mizou DE Michael Sam, who’s touted as a 3rd or 4th round draft pick, has revealed he’s gay. There’s a few ex-players who’ve come out after they retired but he’d become the first openly gay NFL player.
