I have one motherfucking sweet tooth. Find myself going to the cinema only to visit the Pick ‘n’ Mix and then spending ridiculous amounts of money on sweets.
My current favourite indulgences (all of which have been consumed in the past 7 days):
Tunnock’s Caramel Wafers
Tunnock’s Tea Cakes
Pink Snacks
Cadbury’s Caramel
Tootsie Roll lollipops (fresh from the USA)
Silvermints
Rhubarb and custard hardboiled sweets
Apple and blackberry hardboiled sweets
Pavlova
Eat far too much of this stuff but I’d be miserable without it.
Signing in. I also have a sweet tooth. I visited the pick n mix at the shop the last three evenings. I’m a sucker for the likes of wine gums and fizzy cola’s. I also eat a lot of chocolate, cakes, buns, tarts and occasionally ice-cream.
Forgot about ice cream. I’m not a huge fan but I did have a Tangle Twister yesterday and a bit of strawberry ice cream earlier in the day at my mother’s.
I also left out biscuits from my original list. In fact just now I’m enjoying a home-made chocolate chip cookie baked by Mrs Rocko today.
I love pick n mix, with cola bottles both fizzy and non fizzy being top of the list. Snakes, strawberries, those red lips and small blue dolphins also rank very highly.
I’m very bad at judging how much they are going to cost though, often spend well over a fiver on them.
Haribo star mix is a decent substitute for proper pick n mix, and there golden bears are savage.

Haribo star mix is an acceptable imitation alright. The fact you can get them in vending machines is a plus. It’s a long time since I spent less than a tenner on one pick ‘n’ mix. Discipline goes out the window.
I had a business idea before for an “all you can eat” pick ‘n’ mix bar. You’d sit down at a conveyor belt type thing like at a sushi bar and you’d buy a time-related ticket. So say €25 would get you 25 minutes for example. The sweets would come individually - it wouldn’t be piles of sweets passing by in a trough but individual sweets nicely spaced, to be savoured, not wolfed down. You could eat everything that passes in front of you but the best part is there’d be tiered seating. You could pay €1/min to sit at a premium seat or €0.50 to sit at a lower seat. The belts that pass in front of the premium seats would be heavy on fizzy cola bottles, milk teeth, those bubblegum cola bottles etc. Those same seats would pass you by if you sat at a cheaper seat but less frequently. You might get a higher ratio of plain jellies at the cheap seats. The premium level would also have a few palate-cleansers like wine gums and plainer sweets with very fizzy or sour sweets so you could take a break from the fizz if required.
went to a period of getting really stoned, spending a shit load of money in there- gorging on the sweets before the movie started & then feeling nauseous during the movie
The Tipperary Crisps?
The cheese and onion are savage, probably my favourite crisp at the moment. The salt n vinegar version are disappointing in comparison. Tayto Bistro is where it’s at for s’n’v
I love lemon-flavoured desserts, the more bitter the flavour the better. Lemon tarts (Insomnia do a good one) and lemon meringue pie in particular. Although it gives a generally sweeter taste due to the icing, I’m also a fan of Mr Kipling’s Lemon Slices. I’d go as far as to say that they are exceedingly good.
