Cheers, mate - But i’ll wait for the expert’s opinion.

That’s not one bit helpful - how do you maintain a slow and steady pace yourself?

I don’t. My strokes are fast and frenetic.

I think my arms are too powerful and i’m built for shorter, fast, distances.

Are you still talking about swimming?

My only pace is slow and steady.

Just relax with the stroke and use high elbows reaching forward very slowly before pulling back when your hands break the surface.

Makes sense - i’m probably not getting my stroke high enough and entering the water again too quickly

How long did that take ?

I’m doing 1k a day and even doing that I vary the stroke

A shitload of swimmers here have aids btw

Lucky bastards - aids is where it is at.

Don’t rush it mate, keep at it and before long you’ll be ready to take off the arm bands

How long then before the ankle bands come off?

I’d take them off before the arm bands mate or you’ll be head down in the pool

Not until the court says so, you robbing little bollox

It’s only two feet deep, mate.

I do the doggy paddle. It’s a great stroke.

I was told I had a lovely stroke pattern

Honestly, imagine in your head that you’re swimming the length of the local lake, or across the bay, and swim like that. On those sets it’s the only way to survive, keeps your stroke long and slow.
