It took whatever 42 x 1 min 35 seconds is. The session is 90 mins but there was warm.up and cool down etc.
We’ve been using paddles and pull buoys, and ankle ties a lot. I think it’s a triathlon based thing, making you use your upper body rather than tire your legs kicking. It feels about the same in effort as ordinary swimming. We do a lot of IM on a Saturday morning (different coach)
Any swimming is good. Swimming 1k a day on your own is really hard mental effort, harder than swimming with a club for sure. You’ll get a great feel for the water though.
Just had a lovely swim in tramore, fuckit the water is lovely here.
You went for a dip, mate - this is a swimming thread.
Go out to the Guillomene if you want to experience a real swim. Follow the signs for Newtown Swimming Cove.
I’m a fabulous swimmer mate, Mrs Campion taught me, (ask your mates in Cork)
Can you not swim in the sea pal?
Presently no, as I’m miles away from it. What a bizarre question.
You pick up swimming quicker than anything else once you set your mind to it. You’ll be in the sea before you know it if that’s your intention.
Fuck off you gimp.
That’s a fabulous spot alright
I’m thinking tri- down the road, mate - might as well perfect my swimming now.
Also, I meant geographically - mate - I can swim in ocean, lake, or river.
Yep. Get a decent swimmer to watch you. You’ll pick it up quickly, but having someone watch you is invaluable. I’ve seen more than one person move gradually from the bottom lane through to the top (which is s very fast lane) over the years.
Ah apologies.
The lad that won the Galway bay swim.last year had never swum in the sea before.
Could you swim in an Ox Bow lake, mate?
Yes- and in a turlough
It was more nasty than bizarre as it’s evident that you can’t swim anywhere.
You’ll get there mate, it’s a piece of piss
I’d say you have a lovely supple body
I wouldn’t, sadly.
would you ever get a rub down after a long swim?
