I should have become a civil servant. Nice pension, no real threat of being laid off and the chance of a nice payoff as you ride off into the sunset.
Donāt think the pension is that hectic anymore?
Plus zero bonuses, perks etc unless you in the upper echelons. Bar a bit of flexibility with working hours and job security, Iām not sure thereās much else appealing about it.
In some departments There used to be a clock or some type of acknowledgement given after 25 years service but that seems to be gone as well.

Iāve just done 20+ years for a US multinational and can tell you that most perks in there were slowly wiped out over the years. Little or nothing in the way of pay rises, you might get a bit of a bonus but that wouldnāt really make up for the other things.
