Talk to joe 2016

Kev is clearly one of these people who presumably lacks much of a formal education but thinks heā€™s ā€œself-educatedā€. The trouble with a lot of these types (and certainly in Kevā€™s case) is they lack the critical filters to enable them to distinguish between reality and bullshit.

Which again is ironic, given that Kev loudly proclaims that he thinks critically. Heā€™s the most gullible fool around.

Iā€™ve always said it in regard to him - a little knowledge (and it is a little in his case) is a dangerous thing.

Not absolutely true. Iā€™m not against taking something to dull a pain, iā€™m talking about chemo.

In about 20 years tine we will look back in horror and maybe even some sick amusement that we tried to zap cancer out of people in such a way.

Chemo is a brute force treatment, and is being replaced in many regimes by targeted therapies. Targeted biological therapies that specifically attack cancer cells or change your immune system to target cancer cells is now quite common in treatment regimes and is the future.

Chemo has a high success rate in treating leukemia and in particular aggressive childhood cancers. I suspect the people who are alive because of successful chemo treatment would disagree with Kev.

You are mixing up the medical profession with modern pharmacuticals and thus misinterupting what i am saying and what i have all along.

Your views on acupuncture are hilarious and dreadfully out dated.

I was told for years that i had asthma, tyrned out o was lactate intolerant.

They are probably better now but my doc ignorantly refused to do more investigation despite parents asking the questions.

It is a pure allergic reaction to either food, drink or your environmentā€¦I like the sound of the theory that having an over active immune system which causes same, in other ways protects kids from cancer.

Edit: Hope it does anyway.

another interesting development will be aging - a lot of what we call aging is caused by inflammation

I expect they will be able to control and slow down or stop aging in our lifetimes

So take lots of anti inflammatories?

Take aspirin 40mg a day and pycnogenol 150mg a day

Get the princess to stick 50mg of piriton up your hole and your sorted pal.

Would it balance on the end of a strap on?

Oh Fuck I donā€™t know pal, I was only messing with you there.

Wouldnā€™t be something Iā€™d be interested anyway, each to there own though.

There is a lot of research in this area. The two main theories of aging are that 1. our DNA is programmed to cause aging as from an evolutionary standpoint we have little value once we procreate and raise children, and 2. damage to DNA over time which results in damaged cells accumulating over time. Both can be theoretically addressed using genetic programming. There was research done at UCSF where the lifespan of worms was doubled by changing one gene.

Good spot mate.

You canā€™t bate a good pair of wranglers.

Iā€™m mixing up nothing. You are the one confused between medicine (which includes pharma) and quackery. The simple test is whether the proposed treatment has been subjected to properly conducted clinical trials and regulation. The statement ā€œno testing required, we just know it worksā€ is the hallmark of charlatans, most of whom have no formal training in their claimed field of expertise. There is a good reason for this, subjects like medicine and science are difficult, and charlatans wouldnā€™t get past the first exam.

I have spoken to people who do work for pharma companies who tell me they believe a child has been born who will live to 1000 years old plus

Lots of drugs that can turn off cancer exist but they turn off lots of other stuff too

If faced with a tumour that will choke you in 12 months then you like everyone else will take the chemo kev. I know you like to win an old argument on the internet but you ainā€™t an idiot.

Slow down
