And they genuinely consider themselves “the mainstream” because they have been allowed to think of themselves as such.
For every Gemma O’Doherty or Alex Jones there are dozens or hundreds of Ian O’Dohertys, Niall Boylans, Leo Sherlocks, Richard Littlejohns, Rod Liddles, Douglas Murrays, Fraser Nelsons, Sean Hannitys, Ann Coulters, Alan Joneses or Andrew Bolts.
They’re all the same, when you boil it down. O’Doherty and Donald Trump are merely the entirely logical outcomes of the whole steaming pile of reactionary right-wing shit that is foisted upon us every day, everywhere.

This is the thing with a lot of Australians - they 100% do not recognize the Aboriginals claims to the country at all… there was talks a few years ago of altering the flag to include the Aboriginal one and they went nuts… Met an ozzie guy travelling over here at the time - ex -cop, late 40s, and he went nuts when it came up in conversation… Turned very dismissive / racist instantly after being quite charming all night.

BBC Newsline “balanced” the entirely understandable anger of the Bloody Sunday victims’ families that more British paratroopers were not being prosecuted, with former British Army soldiers and politicians portraying one soldier being prosecuted for indiscriminate murder as “a witch hunt”, portraying the murderers that day as the real victims and effectively defending the British Army’s right to indiscriminately murder any innocent civilians without punishment.
If they really wanted to provide some balance, could they not have got some criminal law experts on to try and explain why more soldiers were not being prosecuted, to explain the high burden of criminal proof, or would that have been too boring?
Or is it because the actual position of the UK defence secretary is effectively to echo the vilest sentiments of those former British soldiers who were interviewed?
Is it it because vile hatefulness is now so regularly an “official” position of a government or an “official” spokesperson that news media feels it has to treat such vile hatefulness as something “legitimate”, rather than something which should be condemned, ridiculed and rooted out?
