328/8 at lunch. Handy 28 runs put on so far for 9th wicket.
England all out for 374. First innings lead of 90.
13/1. Warner on his way as Broad strikes with the last ball of the third over.
28/2. Moeen sends Bancroft on his way.
Hard to see England bowling them out cheaply with Anderson unable to bowl.
75/3. Stokes gets the wicket of Khawaja who was starting to look dangerous.
124/3 at stumps. Australia lead by 34. Outcome of this probably depends on how long Sandpaper Smith hangs around for. Going to be a tricky wicket for England to bat last on.
163/3. This is getting away from England. There should be plenty in that pitch for a decent spinner but Moeen was only ever a part time spinner and now he’s a part time spinner out of form and low on confidence.
205/4. Ben Stokes finally breaks the 4th wicket partnership of 130. Sandpaper has moved onto 93.
Stokes was a no ball according to David Gower
We are doing really well now. Slight favourites now
Australia are in command of this test match now. Lyon will make hay on that deteriorating wicket. Moeen has been abject.
Slight favourites mate
Chris Woakes has finally got Sandpaper out. 336/5. Lead of 246.
Wadey showing the Tasmanian spirit here. Whilst Smith will rightly get all the plaudits you don’t win Test matches without an innings like Wade is compiling now. Captain Smith just made sure his country didn’t lose, Wadey is ensuring victory
Apart from the first two sessions it’s been a decent enough batting track. An obdurate and disciplined batting effort could well have a decent chance of batting out Day 5 for a draw. England’s battling line up hasn’t shown those traits for a long time now though. I’d expect Australia to bat them out for 200-250.
Two quick wickets for England. Wade and Paine gone. 409/7. Lead of 319.
Score now?
455/7. I’d imagine a declaration is imminent and 8 to 10 overs at England before stumps.
Why haven’t they declared already?
