That was some slog from Pant. Went for the 6 to win it and completely skewed it. Lucky to get away with a single. Off strike though. 5 needed and the tail exposed now.

It’s actually a lot worse than Ben Stokes at Headingley in some respects. It wasn’t going to be running out of overs that would have seen England come up short that day. That series was ultimately drawn 2-2 which was enough for Australia to retain the Ashes.
India needed an improbable 50 runs there off last 8 overs. They did it in 5 overs with 51 runs - 11, 15, 11, 5, 9.
No 400th test wicket for poor old Nathan ‘Well bowled Gary/Gazza’ Lyon in his 100th test. He finishes the series on 399 after getting hit there for 15 and 5 in his last 2 overs. That’s a nice little double for him to go with dropping Ben Stokes at Headingley which would have ensured a 1 run Australia win rather than a 1 wicket defeat in a 76 run last wicket stand from England.
Some comeback from a depleted India after getting bowled out in the first test in Adelaide for 36 to comeback and win the series 2-1. Australia were cocksure it was all set up for 4-0 after Adelaide all the more so with Kohli out of the rest of the series.

Hopefully India take this momentum, and with a few players back give the Poms a right good thrashing.
Bit of soul searching required by Oz, who probably need to integrate one more middle order batsman and maybe move on from Starc before the next Ashes series where hopefully they give the Poms a right good thrashing.
India will destroy England at home. Don’t think England’s spinners are great.
There’s already questions getting asked about the captaincy of Tim ‘at least my teammates like me’ Paine from Adam Gilchrist amongst others. There should be for the poor quality of sledging if nothing else. That and ‘can’t wait to see you at the Gabba’ from last week have really aged well.
Paine essentially a Mike Brearlrey in the team for his captaincy. Bad sledging and dropped catches not part of the plan.
Yeah, Paine stepped in after the ball tampering in South Africa three years ago with Cricket Australia attempting to wrest back control from the sandpaper crew. In fairness Paine did pretty well over the first three years and conducted himself with a decorum that you don’t often see from Australia captains. He’s really let himself down badly in this series with his behaviour and carry on though. Form hasn’t been good either and he is 36. Captaincy is a lot for a wicketkeeper to take on anyway with all the other responsibilities. He’s hasn’t been good with the gloves in this series and his batting is not far off Mike Brearley levels.
Starc for sure I’d say is done. He had an awful series and couldn’t stop leaking runs.
And bad captaincy. Warne was doing his nut. You love to see that hateful shower of cunts beaten by a second team they despise to boot.
He’s an all rounder. Can’t bat, can’t bowl, can’t field, can’t sledge, can’t captain, and can’t even wash clean linen in public anymore.
