Yes they are. The gym is about the only place on earth I feel free from my own mind and somewhat like a human being. Gives me great satisfaction seeing the amount I can move go up and up.
I ran for a bit a few years back. Did one 10k bit found the training boring and my body started to fall apart when I upped the distance a bit. I’m 110kgs so maybe I’m not especially built for it? I must be the least pacey player ever to take to a football pitch.
Anyway, I’m not blessed with great health, either physical or mental.
All these fella in their 40’s and 50’s mad into running have serious skeletons in their closets that keep them awake at night, they are running from themselves
@TheUlteriorMotive you mentioned reformer Pilates yesterday. Who is your provider of preference? Thinking of adding it into the training mix this year as I look to improve my running times (while avoiding injury)
Climbing my way to being a fairly robust old age pensioner,
Know too many of my contemporaries that are going to be in trouble in the autumn of their lives,
Love to swap em,
I’m fit but poor
They’re loaded but fat and a few already have diabetes and blood pressure problems etc,
Tbh Balbec I want to be mobile as long as possible,
My old man passed at 52 leaving a relatively young wife and mother of 8,
He wasn’t heavy but his diet was awful-
No exercise whatsoever
I use the machines for the muscle strengthening
And I walk a fair bit aswell
As I’m a painter my arms
Shoulders chest etc don’t need much training,
I was weight training for years
But now concentrate on cardio
Have the V shape since 16
Still in good shape,
I was too muscled up at one stage,
Now it’s all about pumping the
Treadmill and stepper I love
I’m training for old age nothing else,
Want to be mobile
