Let’s go, Greece.

Let’s go, FIFA.

Will they extend the ela until next weekend? Banks will be under pressure Monday morning if they open at all.
Some choice for the Greeks would you like to be raped hard or slow

Twitter showing pictures of long queues at ATM since the referendum was announced

It’s a joke at this stage. Syriza were elected on an anti austerity mandate, with a decent vote. They said they would stick it up to the Troika. Now they don’t have the balls to stand their ground and are looking for the cover of a ‘stay in the Euro’ referendum. I’ve said from the start, they haven’t a notion of paying back a cent. Cast them off.

Any fool can print money. If only they could get their paws on all that stolen Nazi gold.

The voice of reason

Aren’t they standing their ground right now?

Not if they want to do a deal but want air cover from a referendum. And any deal based on Greek tax increases is meaningless.

So you think they can only stand their ground by running away?

I think they haven’t a notion of doing a deal that requires paying back borrowed money. It’s not the Greek way.

Do you reckon the banks will open Monday?
Going to be a crazy week in the run up to the referendum

If you loan money to someone you know will never be able to pay it back, who should take the hit for that?

What if you loaned money to someone on the basis of them presenting you with a set of accounts that turned out to be fraudulent?

And if they sign up to pay it back, don’t change anything and still expect another deal, let them off.

I hope syriza stay in power. I am intrigued by the Greek story.

But you and everyone else knew they were fraudulent? Do you think the poor ECB were led astray? They knew fine well.

So why would you lend them money yet again?

Are you saying the ECB and IMF are right to just cut them off? Or are you saying they should keep funding the Greek nation indefinitely?

They lent them money on certain conditions that were supposed to improve the Greek economy. In fact, they made it worse and Greece is now in a worse position than before. They should take some responsibility for that. Of course they should also take some responsibility for the fiction that Greece could ever fit into the euro in the first place, that was well flagged from day 1.

So at this stage they have bad debts that are their own fault, they should be written down or off, obviously. They could then lend on a basis that allows Greece space for recovery. Demanding more blood from a stone helps no one bar satisfying simpletons who think Greece deserves punishment for their recklessness in some sort of morally justified way.

all currencies exist on basis of a measure of trust

Will be a cheap place to holiday for a while

Anybody with wealth in Greece has taken it out a long time ago

So you think that Greece should be allowed do whatever the fuck it wants, lie, not pay taxes, retire at 55 (although 40 would be nicer not sure why they haven’t thought of that) and Europe should continue to fund this and just not crib about it like a good little boy? I know you’re the patron saint of lost causes but this is out there even for you, kid.
