TFK Euro 2012 Arrangments

Cheers mate.

Not going to book it tonight, I believe in the efficent market theory when it comes to these things, as soon as its announced its priced in. Iā€™ll take some time over it next week.

Iā€™m going with that theory too Julio. There may even be additional capacity added to the relevant routes which could reduce prices after a couple of days. If you didnā€™t buy pre-draw then I wouldnā€™t say thereā€™s a huge advantage in buying immediately once it ends.

On a positive note, I think Iā€™ve a cracking chance of a couple of tickets for Ireland games.

Ā£150 return flights from Birmingham to Warsaw are still available for next June with Air Frnace

Maybe even a package might be the way to go to guarantee tickets etc. Anyone know what price something like that would come in at?

Iā€™d imagine thereā€™ll be a massive price increase on flights after the draw but itā€™ll come back down after a week or so.

If you werenā€™t willing to pay a fortune you would think it could work cheaper to fly through somewhere like Scotland. Ryanair have flights from Edinburgh to Gdansk, Poznan, Lodz and Krakow and from Prestwick to Wroclaw. These flights shouldnā€™t be as expensive and itā€™s usually very cheap to fly from Dublin to Prestwick or Edinburgh as the lads on here already know.

Provided we donā€™t have Engerland in Poland aswell.

Iā€™m thinking the connecting flights road is the smart one. Pick a country not going and fly through there.

Yeah those flights would be cheap but Iā€™d caution forum members to include taxes and charges when comparing flights. Two Ryanair flights can work out pretty dear when youā€™re paying two lots of charges.

Soft cock.

Was just looking there. You could put together an epic road trip on the way.
Buy a cheap car and ditch it out there.

It should be ok Puke. If we are drawn to play in Wwa it will be absolutely no problem. Hotel coverage will be v good in Wwa and less so in other cities. I reckon student accomodation could be a good solution.

Bump.

Fly to Germany, preferably Berlin, and bus or train to Poznan has to be the call. Gdansk has ferry potential. E45 one way from Karlskrona in Sweden. Also ferries from Stockholm to Gdansk.

Sopot is a really nice place if looking for somewhere to stay near the sea and near to Gdansk.

Balbec, could you recommend somewhere en-route between Poznon and Gdansk that would be worth visiting overnight

Return flights for the ten day booked for e270. Here we goā€¦

ā‚¬460 Ryanair return into Poznan on the 9th of June.Think Berlin is the best bet.280km from Poznan.Do it in 2 hours on the interrail and sample some fine Bavarian Beer.

Torun is a nice town, Birthplace of Copernicus.

Or Bydgoszcz

or go up to Koszalin/kolobrzeg on the coast. Torun probably the best of these though.

Or visit Malbork near Gdansk, one of the largest castles in Europe there, Teutonic knights stronghold.

Or as Larry Duff suggests, Sopot close to Gdansk.

Flights and accommodation booked.

:pint: :ireland: :pint: :ireland:

Hostel booked in gdansk. Working in the Poznan side of the equation. Flights can be sorted later, Edinburgh sounds like a good option. Road trip from Riga or Tallinn mightnā€™t be bad.
This could be epic.

Where will the ultimate TFKEURO party be?

Guess there is no chance of getting tickets?

Hope those ITK forumites wonā€™t forget my unequivocal support for the side if spare tickets come about.

Booked to Warsaw via Amsterdam with KLM. Out the 9th and back the 19th.
Sorted for the accommodation in each city on match nights and match days itself shall be :pint: :pint: :ireland:
In between games it will be a road tour of Poland and we are looking to take in some camping, hiking, kayaking, etc up around around the northern coastline and the Masurian Lake District. Not really bothered about boozing it up for 10 days straight at all - so it will be some healthy outdoor activities in rural Poland and settling down in the evenings to chill and watch the other matches over a feast of tasty Polish grub.

Match tickets are going to be a bastard to get hold of arenā€™t they? :frowning:
