Thank you balbec. I hear the universities in the host cities may be providing accommodation for visiting supporters although this hasnāt been announced yet. Do you know anything about this at all?
Holland are staying in the Sheraton Hotel in Krakow for the tournament. They are training at Wisla Krakowās ground. All their training sessions will be open to the public.
Italy will train on Cracoviaās ground. Not sure what hotel they are staying in yet but I am sure it will be classy.
The English are staying 30 yards off the main square in the Hotel Stary. One of those poncey boutique hotels. They are crazy because it will be too noisy in the centre of town. Maybe the Wags will like it. They are training at Hutnik Krakowās ground. Nothing special about it , it is small and not so central to get to. England picked it so that they can have closed training sessions, bar the one that they are forced to have open due to UEFA rules.
It would be a no brainer. A lot of Unis have residential accomodation and the academic year will be finished in May. They usually let them out to backpackers, exchange students and people like Shannonsider during the summer. Will be basic but will do the job. Loads of them in Krakow but Poznan and Gdansk should have a decent supply as well.
Gdansk and Poznan have proved a bit of a bogey so far in terms of getting accommodation. Iāve reserved several places in both cities only for them to get back to me saying the places are not available. If I donāt get anything itāll be Torun and commuting from there to the matches but hopefully this student accommodation thing might throw up something.
Category 2 tickets for the Ireland Italy game now up on the portal
Christ almighty, that must be the worst website in the world. Tried to get two tickets for the Italy game earlier, around three hours ago. It said an error had occured after a few minutes of trying to process my payment. Now when I go back into the portal and click on ābuy ticketsā, it wonāt show up the list of games and displays the following message at the bottom of the screen:
"While your previous purchase is being processed you cannot buy further tickets. Please try again in 5 minutes."
Nothing is showing in the My Tickets section. I have no idea if I have tickets or not, and canāt get in to buy any more. Fucking hell.
Same thing happened me last night when trying to buy a ticket for the Spain match. Still getting that message this morning.
I have sent UEFA a rather turse e-mail on the matter this morning
Ire v Spain Cat 1 tickets now on sale.
Got Spain tickets there and got a confirmation email. Never got an email for Croatia tickets even though they show up as being bought. A mild concern though I expect itās still fine and the lack of email reflects server issues at their end on Friday.
My account is still blocked, still telling me my order from last night is processing and they havenāt replied to my turse email yet. :shakefist:
I presume your turse email will see you put on an interpol watchlist for the course of the tournament.
I emailed them Saturday, still no reply, seems to be loads of people having similar problems from reading elsewhere. The only way around it seems to be to create a new account using a different email address.
Lads, why not try sending terse emails rather than emails about triangular lunch sacks?
(Iām the goon  )
Anyway, by the sounds of things Iām almost glad I havenāt managed to nab tickets on the portal yet. I donāt think I could handle shelling out ā¬154 and then possibly have to deal with UEFA if things went wrong. For all the FAIās faults at least theyāve a decent websiteā¦
The ticket selling part of the FAIās website is even worse.
This is a ticketmaster-powered website that UEFA are using. Another shower of cunts.
I thought it was ok for purchasing the last two home games. Simple and basic. Nice and simple and basic. Unlike this utter cunt of a portal that UEFA have. Easily one of the worst portals Iāve ever come across.
Correct. I donāt know where Rocko is coming from. The FAI website is missing a couple of things it really should have, like email notifications and giving you some kind of an idea of what part of the stand you have bought tickets for. On the other hand, it doesnāt fuck up the processing of payment and then lock you out of their website forever. I know which one I prefer anyway.
I hope my post didnāt come across as defending this UEFA one. Just pointing out how crap the FAI one was and that the UEFA one is ticketmaster run. Ticketmaster, as far as I can tell, make a fortune from being really really bad at the one thing they specialise in.
Iām so seething with the UEFA website right now that anything that even looks like a defence of it will set me off. Iāve never seen anything like it. Iāve literally been locked out of the website for over 24 hours. I presume I havenāt got those tickets that I tried to buy, but have no real way of knowing. Itās like some kind of weird punishment for having the temerity to try to buy a couple of fucking tickets from a website thatās meant to only be about selling fucking tickets. :shakefist: :shakefist: :shakefist:
