TFK exclusive: Donal Og's Gay

I tried to phrase that in many different ways so as not to say ‘today’ for exactly that reason.

I would say that today’s society is less homophobic than 50 years ago. I would also say that homophobic attitudes change from not understanding to understanding yet hating.

What about the poor lads having to grow up as homosexuals in the homophobic world of today? It is much tougher on them.[/quote]

Well they did choose to be homosexuals their father did not choose to have 2 homo sexual sons.

To be the receiver in a gay act was considered heinous in Ancient Rome, but being the giver was seen as ok.

:eek::eek:

TS, you are well informed. Podcast or book?

Did I say it wasn’t?

I knew that!

I would disagree on the hating word and use fearing instead.

It’s just Julio covering his homophobia. It’s a retarded comment, and as you say, it’s about the lads.

What was the outlook on reacharounds?

Amongest all this you pulled out the father as being the one who it’s tough on.

I presume you are taking the piss so I’ll leave that there.

It was mentioned in a book I read. Think Julio Ceasar had been accussed of being the receiver in such an act early in his life and the allegations dogged him throughout his political career, before he was ultimately stabbed to death.

@caoimhaoin , DOG does speak very highly of his da in the book and said that he knew it affected him the most, I would know his da and he is as a sound a man you could meet, but shur that’s how it is,
His mother and sister stopped going to games after Tipp in Semple stadium in 2009, for obvious reasons

Fuck the lads, oh wait…

I was merely commenting in passing that it’d be tough for any father to have two gay sons, I didn’t say it wasn’t tougher on the lads themselves, in fact the toughest part of the whole lot as a father is knowing how difficult it would be for your sons.

what was the quote from his ould lad?..
“jaysus Donal, whatever about your fucking short puck outs how the fuck am i supposed to back you up out there on the site each monday morning when they start going at me over this?”
He knew his ould fella would go to war for him tho, and that’s all you want

The unkindest cut of all

less homophobic today ??..its almost fashionable to be gay now !..

Same as modern prison so. Fucking pussies is for queers so the saying goes.

The comment reminded me of a comment made by a relation of mine when we were discussing a girl from home who became pregnant at 18 and was unmarried.

‘Aw think of her poor mother. And she is so religious. This will devastate her’.

Her husband interrupted with ‘Never mind the mother!! She will just have to wake up and realise that this is the modern world we live in. Think of the poor girl more so. It is her who will have to live with the consequences of it.’

Never a truer word spoken.
