Look at the earlier versions like the 5 or 4 in outlet stores. Very little difference in the shoe but waaay cheaper

I did see that. However, Iā€™ve always been meaning to try a different brand and the Hoka One brand seems to have gotten good reviews over the years. More cushion wonā€™t do the ageing legs any harm either!

Trim 10 Mile going on sale tomorrow morning at 10am via Pop Up Races. It usually sells out in an hour two. I did it last year & enjoyed it - itā€™s on the new(ish) February bank holiday weekend & the week after the Raheny 5 so these two early year races will be ones Iā€™ll start training for soon.

Yeah, it was a very windy day & it was like the gladiators travelator on the exposed section at the finish. Maybe my memories are coloured by the race going well for me, which has become an increasingly rare occurrence.

Good stuff - Iā€™ve signed up too. It starts in a retail park on the town outskirts & goes out to the countryside & loops back to finish in the same area. You wonā€™t get the razzmatazz of going right into Trim City Centre, itā€™s a rural route but thereā€™s good shelter from the wind in most places. They encourage folk to line up at the start based on expected finishing time so I stood in between the 70 & 80 minute markers last year & got in with a group going at my pace.
