Cheers. A mate bought me a Donegal jersey in size large for christmas. Good motivation to keep at it when all else fails.
Good man, well done. Itās always lovely to read a comeback tale.
Thinly veiled āI too was a fat fuckerā
FAO of @tallback & anyone else racing in Raheny tomorrow. Course reverts to the old route, as DCC donāt want it going into the park tomorrow.
Old wrong route?
What was the problem with the park?
Iāll have to redo my Strava pacing plan
Nothing as far as I can make out having ran in there today. Think DCC cancelled most parkruns in their parks today post storm but thereās no trees down on the race route. Thereās a yellow warning tomorrow & more windy weather due so they must be acting withā¦an abundance of caution. Connoisseurs seemingly much prefer the old route as it doesnāt have the turnabout section in the park & you donāt go back on yourself. Just continue on straight down towards coast instead of turning into park & then take the left onto James Larkin Road & go around park perimeter & back up Watermill Road to Raheny. Strong south easterly wind tomorrow which is very unusual & probably not favourable overall. Might get shoved up the hill in the last mile though.
Somewhat ironic to try make a race more safe by moving it closer to the coast when thereās going to be storm winds blowing in off it
āHillā
Wait what?
More of a drag.
Iāve landed in the Red Stables and as Met E would say - Iām sheltering in place (the car) ahead of heading out into the rain.
Are you marshalling today @Bandage ?
Best of luck, looks like itās clearing a bit.
Ah yeah - not too bad. Great buzz at the start as ever
Nice run out this morning in the Clonakilty 5 mile. Weather ended up being fine for most of it considering the early morning wind and heavy rain
Great run, well done.
We got caught too far back at the start & couldnāt get a clear run for the first couple of km. TBH not sure I had much more in my legs, thought Iād be 36:xx & was early 37. That said, my plan this year is to ease into things & not leave my best work on the road in January & February. At least thatās what Iām telling myself anyway. Still enjoyed it though.
A super fun day. Great buzz around the place despite the weather and fair play to Raheny AC for all the effort put in.
I was very happy how I went as my training has been very intermittent over the last few months.
The bit along the coast was better than expected- a bit of a tail wind? - but that ādragā up after really hurt the legs and made the last couple of k a proper grind. I suppose thatās how the end of every race feels though.
Anyway, great to get 2025 off to a start and plenty more days to look forward to
Well done lads, great running
Anyone ever feel the need to go to the toilet after doing calf raises?
