Windy like?
Skilful and clever
In the old days they’d say country backs for bravery and heart and townie forwards for skill and craft.
Not by a country mile?
Callanan for me too
Where’s the great Aisake Ó hAilpín
Brainiac of the Hurling World
Ah here
Shane O’Donnell was a one trick pony after he burst on the scene. Very easily marked. He has adapted his game a bit more in recent years but he’s not even in the conversation.
Seamus Prendergast
Dowling.
Richie Power a close second, Callanan on his day of course - but he had some windy years.
Dan Shanahan more worth of a mention than a few of them lads
Dan played alot at FF in and out of games. He was a class act. Richie Power for me though.
Callanan then cloonan
If he had more years like 2007s Munster championship we’d be talking about him for 20 years.
He was unbelievable that year and destroyed Limerick in the Munster final in fairness.
And not forgetting the semi final where he got 5 goals and Limerick got none
Richie tactically got the better of him that day on the line
Was that the only ever instance of a gaa manager having a pop off an opposition player like that after beating him? (not that he meant it in badness but was harsh all the same )
Twas a terrible thing to say but sure he knew it himself the minute he said it. Just got caught up in the moment.
it was emotion and harmless really
no real cut and bad tone in it
The limerick backs were brilliant that day. Lucey was savage.
