Shane won an Ireland final ffs, 3 goals. He was outstanding in the 2018 semis too. He belongs on that list ahead of at least four of them. Callinan, Cloonan and Richie are out on their own here imo.

Shane O’Neill was a very average full back and he had O’Donnell well figured out. Just let him run down blind alleys before fuckin him off the ball.
He took Shane O’Neill for 3-3 in one and only championship match O’Neill marked him

O’Neill marked him in a quarter or last round qualifier in Thurles a year or two later and destroyed him.
And you are wrong again. It was Brian Murphy in 2015 you are thinking of. Not a whole lot of shame in a 21 year old being schooled by one of the savviest corner backs around.

The Dow was a sub in his all Ireland final ffs, came on against a team chasing a deficit and picked off few handy points as a result. No way comparable to SODs final showing.

Ah here, that’s ridiculous in fairness.
He scored 3 goals in a final, fair enough. 7 years ago. A couple of them were tap-ins.
One senior All-Ireland each. One NHL each.
Dowling has two Munster medals and a club AI. Has come up with plenty of big goals and moments at intercounty level. Certainly more than O’Donnell anyway.
O’Donnell has his uses but his scoring record since that 2013 final is fairly average I’d imagine. He’s a great ball winner but other than that his main attribute seems to be throwing his hands up in the air - Team America Dirka Dirka style - and desperately appealing for frees which he usually gets.

Dowling in 2018 had a big influence iwhen he came on in tight games n the qtr final, semi and final. The goal he got against Kilkenny last year was unbelievable. He has had a much bigger influence in games than SOD who is a handful but no where near the talent of Dowling.
That time on The Sunday Game when Cummins said "…and Shane O’Donnell inside with his two hands up in the air crying “Where’s my free?”…" summed him up perfectly.
