TFK International Business Travel Thread

Jaysus. Classic old school Ireland. One would literally risk death before embarrassment or being bad mannered.

Stellar work by Captain Jim Bedford to overcome tough, blustery conditions to land smoothly in DUB. It prompted a smattering of applause, similar to the sarcastic type you used to get on Ryanair flights back in the day except I sensed a real genuine element amongst those that partook. A form of genuineness Brian Cody looked for in his players. I might even be home in time for kick off at Celtic Park now, as my life partner has Celtic TV set up for me. A top, top day of international business travel only partly spoiled by that awkwardness when you bump into people you dealt with at the meeting in the airport & have to sit with them for a while.

Bratislava - the Rio Bar & Restaurant, lovely food and cool vibes. Just south of the old town. But it all depends where you’re staying. If you wanted just a cheap and cheerful beer and grub, go to Centrálna Klubovňa close to the Lindner Hotel, food is grand and the beer is :kissing_heart:. Not far from there is U Taliana, Italian restaurant and is the finest.

Vienna - normally brought to places there so I just go with the flow. I do remember going to the The Bell Pub-Bar-Restaurant, had a good night there once. But if you can organise it as I don’t think you can just walk in, look to go to one of the traditional Austrian restaurants and go for the beef broth dish :yum:, Zum weißen Rauchfangkehrer is a lovely night out :+1:

Pakistan tomorrow :flushed:
Looking forward to it, but getting lively over there.
As it’s a Pakistani govt led thing we’re apparently being met off the plane by the army.

If the terrorists hit the hotel hide in the wardrobe.

I met a lad who hid for two days in a wardrobe during the 2008 Mumbai attacks surviving on his mini bar contents

Was he charged for them?

I’d imagine so. I think he was charged for the stay as well.

He said he could hear explosions and shooting and it was like a game of hide and seek where you die if you are found.
