Pay for the fast pass. Thatā€™ll shave 10 minutes off. Knowing you youā€™ll have a Bowie knife or something in your hand luggage and a very plausible story as to why itā€™s there. Do yourself a favour and leave that behind as well

Taxi at 5.15am should be ok. If it was me I would leave at 5am as that extra 15 minutes in bed is not worth the little bit of stress til you get airside

As @Fagan_ODowd says the fast track security pass is well worth it in these situations. I think itā€™s only ā‚¬7 but youā€™re guaranteed to be though security in less than 10 minutes and most times youā€™re actually straight through. If you are at the airport by 5.45am youā€™re fine.

Thanks all. Iā€™m being put up by work so itā€™ll be city centre.
Iā€™ll be looking for Friday morning coffee recommendations as they are arriving me at 9 am for a 2pm meeting.
Bleh.

I think you still get a free coffee or Irish times with the fast pass so you should be buzzed up for a PB.

In other news Cityjet staff acting the cunt in the run up to Xmas. A lot of us will be trying to cover all client drinks events on both sides of the water over the Yuletide season.

Stay at the croke park. Kind of city centre and near enough to the airport.
The area is dodgy but the hotel is very nice. They do great corporate rates too.

Get the new underground from parnell square .it flies in

Itll be booked for me. Iā€™ll be having dinner in town that night anyway, and at 5am, three or four miles will only save ten mins Iā€™d imagine.

I spend the parkrun cajoling my eight year old around by chatting to her about anything that takes her mind off it. Hence my pb is 29.10 according to the website.

Edit, I also have to let her outsprint me for the sake of the calm going home.

Why donā€™t you stay in my gaff seeing as youā€™re in town?

are those park runs chipped timed?

Iā€™m not sure if youā€™re being entirely serious. Iā€™m bring put up anyway, and Iā€™d not have you woken at 5am, but if you were in town mid morning, a coffee meet up would be delightful.

Sort of. You download a bar code, which is permanently attached to your name. You bring that along on a bit of paper. When you finish, you are given another Bar coded tab which has your placing written on it. You bring that, and your personal bar code to a Marshall, who scans them both. Takes your placing one off you, presumably for reuse, and that allows them to publish your time on the Internet site later. They also text it to you.
As there is often quite a delay between getting your finish tab, and getting scanned, Iā€™m not sure how it works quite, but itā€™s all very cheerful.

They had a brass band at the start, playing away in the lashing rain last Saturday. When the gun went, they started playing the trumpet music from rocky, which led to a big cheer.
Itā€™s a great family event.

Be like that so.

OK I will.

Where are you being put up

Not sure yet. Was the conrad or the Sherbourne the last couple of times.
I m not bothered tbh. Iā€™ll take a long walk around town in the morning. Anywhere clean does me perfectly.
