Which party’s leadership would you have the most confidence in if they were to form part of the next government

You forgot the none of the above option
Independent ???
Not a party
EO’B, Pearse, Louise O’Reilly and Mary Lou … easily the strongest.
Leo is a master debater but he’s very weak on leadership … How many more chances does he want to give Harris and Murphy and then there’s his handling of Dara Murphy and Maria Bailey et al… he basically waited until public opinion forced him to move.
Front bench - leadership group as opposed to leader.
What is LOR’s job? FF get a lot of stick for their front bench but SF are just as bad. Outside of EOB (who I think is a spoofer, but is a capable performer), PD and MLMD you don’t hear from any of them.
She’s health — comes from trade union stock.
She’ll be found out. She’s a brilliant agitator and opposition type. I reckon if she gets a ministry it’ll rival Ross or Mary Mitchell O Connor for incompetence and lack of progress. Just a hunch.
As I said, she’s a union type so does fit the role of opposition well … but let’s not write her off on a hunch.
SF have an instant fix? It’s amazing you didn’t last longer in the party with those magic solutions lying about the place
Who said instant?? Huh? wha? Ha?
A hunch based on the opinions of people who worked with her. But shure we need to roll the dice.
Would your hunch be based on her possibly going into health? ---- there’s no party can fix that mess in fairness… But they can be more proactive than what we’ve seen.
Cullinane in Waterford is quite good. Carthy is coming in now and MacLochlainn coming back. Chris Andrews not SF stock but will have a role if elected. As I’ve said elsewhere Lynn Boylan should be running. They could have a formidable enough front bench if you pulled all that together, certainly a lot better than Fianna Fail 's.
Read the post immediately above your one! Nothing to do with health. Mostly to do with what I’ve heard about her from ex colleagues and what I’ve seen of her in this constituency. Her and the councillors working under her did little or nothing locally over the last few years. She has the national profile but many of the councillors paid the price at the last locals.
Having said that, maybe having worked in unions, she’d be more than able to to deal with the consultants…
donnchadh is actually good and a very decent fella - but doesnt have much of a national profile.
Who here had the argument that Boylan was superb and would be in the Dáil and Europe is only for shapers and wasters? Was it @Wanderlust?
You’re used to different treatment though.
